Me a year ago. Match Monday and i matched my last rank -a surgery prelim. The scrub cap was made for me by a classmate and I have cherished it! I overcame and matched a categorical surgery position yesterday. But I also look back and cherish the me in this pic 😍

Mom had MRI total spine last night. Post anesthesia she was without pain, laughing, and even flipped me off for talking bad on the Cowboys. Her pain was well managed but right before surgery came she was at a 10/10 again 🥲 she’s in surgery now and oddly enough I feel calm.

@_conniege I beg to differ. Rooting for you this cycle @_conniege!!! I know you’ve been working hard, and hard work gets noticed in residency interviews!

I just had a mock interview and they asked me for a weakness - I said “self doubt, but I’m working on it bc I know I am qualified”. Then I open this email and see myself and other students referred to as “rejects” and it’s hard to remember that I have any qualifications at all.

@krissyoj_ I hear you. I’m also in my prelim year and I get excited when I order imaging on my patients bc I wanna look at their insides lol

I haven't even started rad yet but the joy I feel looking at images? Omg. I'm so grateful that I get to do this for the rest of my life (early retirement is still in view lol)

@TheRadRoom @hiraaqureshi @DRradcats @chels2718 @RadzManMyles 20-30 is a good number. Apply near friends/family and in the same cities as your top choice programs. I recommend doing prelim at the same place as your advanced program to get familiar with the hospital and make friends. If not an option, I think a solid TY is best for Rads.
