Smarttraveller has warned World Cup-goers to exercise a "high degree of caution" if travelling to Mexico, due to the threat of violent crime in the country. The Australian government body also advised to reconsider travel to the states of Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Guanajuato, Sonora, Colima and Chiapas, none of which are hosting matches during the tournament.
