Unionist leaders are stepping over one another to proclaim their utter hypocrisy today. If Robinson & Burrows wish to renounce violence, at all times in history, let them begin by denouncing Britain’s empire & its wholly destructive impact upon Ireland- including creating NI.

⚠️💥NEW Dunmurry car bomb: 'Mindless idiots, a stupid attack. It’s not normal to want to kill police officers.' 🎥🎤First Minister @moneillsf, Deputy First Minister @little_pengelly and Chief Constable Jon Boutcher speaking at Stormont. 🗣Michelle O’Neill says those responsible must 'get off the backs of communities' and is urging anyone with information to come forward to the PSNI. 🗣Emma Little-Pengelly says terrorism was wrong in the past and is still wrong today, adding the Prime Minister must act when it comes to national security. ⁉️Chief Reporter @jamesgould23 asked all three how attitudes can be changed so people do not want to kill police officers. Jon Boutcher says attitudes must change and that work is ongoing. A male delivery driver was hijacked in the Twinbrook area of west Belfast on Saturday. A device was placed inside the vehicle and he was ordered to drive it to Dunmurry Police Station. The car exploded outside the station as people were being evacuated, including two babies. The incident comes just weeks after an attempted car bomb attack on Lurgan Police Station. It’s thought the New IRA is behind the attack.

I have left the SDLP with immediate effect. My focus will remain on the ground in my community, representing the people of West Belfast. For clarity, I was not at the hastily arranged Belfast City Council meeting this week - contrary to some posts directed at me. I was dealing with an emerging issue in the community and therefore did not have the opportunity to vote against the DUP motion - which I would have done. Anyone suggesting otherwise is simply trying to score cheap political points. As someone from West Belfast, I know the Bobby Sands statue in Twinbrook holds real significance for people in our community and beyond. People should be entitled to remember him in this way, and I fully support that. Shame on the DUP and others for turning this into a political stunt. My focus remains, as always - on the people of my community. If anyone would like to engage further on this directly, you know where I am.

Jamie Bryson is calling on unionist students at QUB & UU to “join the culture war against nationalism” & robustly promote their politics on campus. He’s urged them to attend lectures wearing Orange Order t-shirts & parade around the universities in sashes. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/politics/…
