Sounds like cope to me - very similar to “I just black out bro…” I’m not an expert with jiu-jitsu or wrestling, but I have practiced both disciplines alongside Okinawa karate (there is a difference) and boxing. From all instructors, if they are practically sound, I have been told “In a self defense situation, do NOT go to the ground.” No one is invincible and you want to be able to not only protect yourself, but protect others. How will you protect your family from the other mugger if you’re too busy holding the other one in an arm bar?
