I have a a humble request for @OmarAbdullah sahib. We had submitted our proposed plan to the R and B department, under C and T sector. I was perusing the list released by the department. They have tinkered with the list, deleted some roads sent by us and added some roads which have not been proposed by me. We welcome additional roads but not at the cost of the proposal sent by an elected representative. Why are you allowing this? Don’t humiliate and belittle an elected representative. Now don’t sit back and smile sadistically. What you do to us is what Delhi will do to you. You bend your back backwards and display disdainful servitude in Delhi and here you want to trivialise the institution of an MLA. If you are man enough and want to showcase your valorous traits showcase that in Delhi not in allocation of roads in Handwara. And to those officers who bypass law, this is not the end but the start. That is my promise.

Bungus Valley deserves to welcome tourists once again. With most tourist destinations reopened after the Pahalgam incident, I request Hon’ble LG @manojsinha_ to also reopen Bungus Valley in District Kupwara. Reopening this breathtaking destination will revive tourism, support local livelihoods, and create opportunities for the youth of District Kupwara.

Once upon a time in the year 2026, in the ex state of J and K there was a government. And in the government was a minister. And also in the government was there was an engineer posted in Kathua and promoted to the next level. He sought the help of the minister for transfer to mainland of winter capital. And poor guy did what he was asked to do. About 24 apparently. When the list came out he was posted to borders in the peer Panchal range. Poor guy doesn’t know what has hit him. The guy who got 24 won’t budge an inch. He refuses a refund and insists on 10 more for modification. Once upon time good bye. And good luck to those who voted for them.

I remember in 2015 I cast my vote in Rajya Sabha. Our party did not have a candidate but the ruling alliance requested us to have an agent of their choice. The said person was a non MLA and checked my vote and that of my colleague and fellow MLA @bashirdaradv It seems highly improbable that PDP or NC did not know the rules. Appointment of agents is the most important step in these elections. The rules are clear as enunciated by @umerjournalist in a tweet. There is no ambiguity. And a party can appoint an agent, whether the party fields a candidate or not. The only time when you can’t appoint agent is when the party does not want to appoint an agent. That NC did not insist on appointment of agents and PDP simply did not appoint agents hints at a much bigger spread in match fixing. The RTI by @umerjournalist strongly indicates that at least three parties BJP, NC and PDP, were a part of the Rajya Sabha match fixing. And that BJP could not have won the Rajya Sabha seat without the support of NC and PDP. Good luck to the people of Kashmir. Unfortunately the joke is on them.

Participated in the Nasha Mukth Bharat Abhiyaan Padyatra in Handwara town. Amazing show of support despite heavy rainfall, by students and people of Handwara constituency. The administration needs to be commended for organising such an inspiring event. ⁦@manojsinha_

Sad news coming in. Noor Mohd Bandey sahib of Town Handwara aka Noor Mama passed away. My mentor, my dearest Noor Mama was a long time associate of my late father. Perhaps the longest. Noor Mama must have been in his eighties. He joined my late father when he was a teenager. And never left my father, me or the party till date. He will be a reference point for loyalty and dedication. For me he was family. And he was my most trusted companion in my political journey. He spent his entire life for @JKPCOfficial Me personally and @JKPCOfficial can never repay what he did for the party. It is a personal loss for me. During my early days he would be by side, literally coaching me. Those were tough times. My father had been killed. I still remember. During political outings, he would first go in, check the house and then allow me to go in. He would literally shield me in public gatherings. Barring last few years when he was not keeping well, Noor Mama was a one man war machine who would manage the political tours, the residence. He was full of life. Full of humour. It was a treat to sit with him and talk for hours. He would always be surrounded by people, listening to his conversations

I may not share his politics but Sajad Lone is a Kashur first! You may have become Dy CM by chance—don’t mistake that for stature! Stay within your limits! You are sitting there at the behest of Kashmir and the wrong choice made by my own people—who are you to question him? Who are you to question his accommodation or ask him to vacate? That decision lies with the MHA, the Lieutenant Governor and security agencies—not you! Mind it! And! Do mind it! You are living in a house you once couldn’t step into—I stand witness! Don’t forget where you came from! You may have gotten here by chance but don’t forget your place! This is about a man’s life—someone who lost his father and lives under the highest threat! Really sad that our own people hyped you up and put you on a pedestal!

The din of the proposed changes in the Land Grants Act refuses to die down. This is the recurring gossip amongst the elites. I personally feel that misrepresentation and selling something as “for the poor” when the poor are not even remotely connected to the proposed changes is a sin. First we fail to do anything for the poor and second we use the name of the poor to provide cover to the process of exploitatively enriching the elites. I have a humble submission. This bombast that the bill is for the poor is very very irritating. Could you please tell us how the poor will be helped in the proposed changes in the Land Grants Act. Can you identify the poor people. There are 51 lakh souls in J and K officially recognised as poor(BPL AND AAY). How would these changes help them. Next comes the lower middle income group, slightly above the BPL. How does it help them. It is not meant to help them and will not help them. On the other end of the spectrum are the super elites the super rich of Jammu and Kashmir. I know for sure that any amendments are meant to help them. That’s the sole motive of the government. And I am not against help being rendered to them. But why use the name of the poor. And why leave out the poor. The government of the day has two set of supporters. One is those who didn’t queue up on the polling day but donated money for the ruling party. And second are those lakhs of poor souls who queued up for hours and voted for the ruling party. This bill if it is tabled and passed will be for the elite donors who paid donations and not the poor voters. So a government elected by the voters for the rich, elite donors. But then those queued up elected a government which it seems we as people deserved. Garbage in Garbage out.

If there is any bill which is apparently going to be supported by the government, seeking amendments to land grants , it will be injustice if it is focused solely on the rich and elite. We support relief for all. The most important is the legal rights of those:- Who are landless, and have made their homes on government land. These are small land holdings. They are the most vulnerable and attract frequent visits from government officials. Those who have been allowed shops and small commercial establishments from SDA, JDA, SMC, JMC, Urban Bodies and other government and semi government entities. In most of the cases they have paid market premium, which is almost equal or more than the market price. Yet there is a creeping ambiguity in their ownership. They are not allowed to sub lease or sell. And many have been sent eviction notices. An eviction notice today is a post dated cheque for physical eviction at a future date. Those who have paid market prices in buying residential property in the form of land or flats from Government entities. And despite paying market prices they do not have proprietary rights. And face same problems in selling and sub leasing. The changes post 2019 are not confined to hotels. There have been massive changes in the urban development department. And an ambiguity in ownership has been created by change in rules. These rules will form the basis of unlawful and illegal eviction in the event of a hostile government in future. Government cannot be run for the benefit of top elite. We support amendments. But amendments should first be for the poorest of the poor, then the poor, then the middle class and lastly the elite.
