@TrueIndology Why should Kohli go against the BCCI? How about calling out Jay Shah, the son of Amit Shah and also the head of the BCCI, for organizing the series if it's bothering you that much? No guts, I guess.

OK, but first don't accept it only on my mathematical authority that Aryabhata invented calculus. I always tell even my students not to accept what I say but to “check, check, cross-check”. Only then does the knowledge become theirs. Math DOES relate to colonial strategy, so first let me explain to you on strategic (rather than mathematical) grounds why you should accept my statement about invention of calculus as true. Your statement that Aryabhata did (proto?) calculus suggested a deep-seated belief that the West did "something" superior in calculus (though you couldn’t explain what that something was). On identical grounds most ppl think we must ape the West and continue teaching calculus on its current Western (mis)understanding. In short, they accept the dogma of Western superiority (in mathematics and science) which according to me is at the heart of colonialism (which I seek to overthrow). (I understand that you are talking about applications of mathematics, but believing Western superiority already is a key unsuspected political application of the dogma of White/Western supremacy of math, which comes long before the industrial revolution.) This claim of Western superiority, asserted also by Macaulay, was a mutation of the earlier claim of White superiority, and as essential to colonialism as the claim of White superiority was to Black slavery. Pls see my recent talk at Syracuse University (pic1), or the earlier keynote at Tübingen-Pretoria.(pic 2) .. contd. 2
