Chase Petty has gotten better with every start this spring, and this may have been the cherry on top. Picture perfect pitch usage by handedness, much better command, and (I believe) a lower arm angle 👀 Really happy to see Petty learning how to pitch within his arsenal.

I’d rather just put him on the IL and let it heal and give BWill a start and have an extra arm in the pen than Lodolo push it and make it worse. Call up someone who can give you length in a pinch and roll with Abbott, Singer, Burns, Lowder & Williamson.

Reds’ Lodolo (blister) played light catch for maybe 15-20 throws this afternoon. Francona, trainer, front office officials convened after. Lodolo said he didn’t know what plan would be. Said it was OK but didn’t sound particularly enthused. Team says “working on it.” IL in play.

@JayRBP I hope so. If Lodolo ends up on the IL I wonder if we call up Danner/Antone and go with a traditional structure or if Petty gets that call and we stick with the piggybacking.

@RedsFan_Brandon I'm fine with a compromise of Friedl and Marte swapping off days vs a LHP and also using LHP for off days for Elly and Key so Friedl and Marte aren't straight platoon players, but the answer should always be Myers in the lineup.

It would be insanity not to have Dane Myers in the lineup vs a LHP. Here are the Reds outfield options in 2025 vs LHP. As an added bonus, Myers is 2 for 5 in his career vs Crochet.

@CBoxSports I think it is. I’d prefer Lowe over Hayes a few days a week to keep his back fresh. I also like Sal 4 and Geno 5. Geno has more pop but Sal’s consistency will keep the lineup moving along

It’s quite simple. You either have Lowe and Bleday in the org or just Bleday.

Think it’s Nate Lowe mainly because Bleday has an option left and it could be the only way to keep Lowe in the org. Bleday had a great spring, but he’s still coming off a very down season. Don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask him to prove things a bit down in AAA.
