@BarryOnHere Barry on here obviously did not play a single game of basketball himself. WHY would the NBA rig the game for OKC? Barry I want an answer. Give me the engagement I am giving you. I want to know your theory

*taps microphone* It's obvious to anybody who isn't an OKC/SGA supporter that OKC benefits from a massive double standard from the referees. Teams are simply not allowed to play them with the same level of physicality that they are allowed to play against their opponents. This particularly applies to SGA more than anybody else. Everybody focuses on the fouls called, but it's the fouls NOT called that are more impactful. However, there's no stat to track non-calls because it will always be "subjective". This dilemma creates endless arguments. But watching the games, we all see it. OKC doesn't NEED the whistle they get to be a great team, but that whistle does take them to a level of dominance that feels artificial and impossible to fully respect no matter how much they win.

@Darkside_Flip @balldontTy It's the RULES OKC follows them as much as they can Most Teams REFUSE to Learn the Core 🏀 Concept known as LEGAL DEFENSE READ that Rule in the Rulesbook Get Educated 85% of what U see will start to make sense

I really just don’t understand how officials ref OKC. their guards are allowed to D up like a corner within 5 yards, allowed to be *extremely* physical. on top of that, they all flop like crazy. Chet’s on the ground holding his jaw like he was mugged, & refs reward the flopping. it’s the wildest contradiction & refs play into it every night. it makes no sense.

I’m TELLING YOU. Institute a post-game review process. Fine players $10K a flop. that’s it. nothing else. review the tape, if it’s an egregious flop like THIS, give us $10K buddy. flopping is GONE in a month. it’s that simple.

@SamQuinnCBS How do you legislate drawing fouls? It’s the nature of the game. Shai’s footwork in the lane is unmatched. He gets defenders out of position in the mid. You’d have to make it a tackle sport to neutralize that skill

JJ's right. Drawing fouls is explicitly a skill. However, I think a lot of fans feel it's a skill the NBA should try to legislate out of the game. It's a bit like tanking in that it's a viable strategy to exploit the rules, so it's on the NBA to make the rules less exploitable. Some players are just naturally going to get to the line more than others through their playing style. Guys who attack the basket should get to the line more than jump shooters. That's fine. But there's a gamesmanship to foul-drawing that I think most fans dislike. The rules shouldn't reward making it look like your defender broke the rules. It's a skill but I'm not sure it should be.

A few things #1 it was just as bad for harden as far as the discourse around his flopping and play style #2 the thing that some SGA supporters are not taking into consideration is the dichotomy at play when watching okc. You have this offensive player flailing around while he also plays on the most physical team in the league, so it makes it look even worse

I did read it sport. The defender does not have to move out of the offensive player’s way, avoid all contact, or remain motionless before jumping. When an offensive player crashes into the defensive player, which is what SGA did, then it's a no-call or offensive foul. What he did was perfectly legal.

@Chino780 @Dawg2773 @HaterReport You should read the whole rule book brother. Of course a defender can move laterally. What he can’t do is jump from A to B while making contact with an active shooter. It’s the verticality principle, also under rule 12

@Chino780 @HaterReport He’s literally moving sideways you blind buffoon. He can jump vertically up and down but cannot move left/right into the opposing player. Within HIS vertical plane.

@EricCon41250223 @HaterReport Driving to the hoop is deplorable and shameless? Lol. Your defender flew 8 feet sideways. That’s a foul in every sense. Some of us know ball and some of you just love to cry online because you never touched a basketball in your life

@HaterReport this defense happens every game. where a player in the post goes straight up and its a foul. but how is it, and why is it a foul? this says to me you arent suppose to play defense down low at all just let the player score

This manufactured run by OKC over the last two seasons isn’t just because of Shai’s whistle— Oh no, it’s death by 1,000 paper-cuts when it comes to OKC. - On this first play Lu Dort holds Ayton, then as Ayton tries to get him off, Dort flops to the ground. Foul on the Lakers. - The next play, Ajay Mitchell and Jarred Vanderbilt are holding each other, then Mitchell flops to the ground, pretending he was pushed. Foul on the Lakers. Do you see the theme?? These happen all game, every game with OKC, and they always get the whistle. More importantly, these usually take place during key parts of the game that shifts the momentum in their favor. Basketball fans are over this!! 🔥🔥

@getnickwright Just wished you didn’t wait till this series to call out the foul baiter. The entire media has been so silent on this guy aiming for an Oscar nomination on the court that it feels like it’s too late at this point. Hopefully #LakeShow fans are able to see what’s been happening

Call me old fashioned, but I think the soon to be 2x MVP should drive to the basket with the intent to score instead of driving to the basket with the intent to trick the ref.

JJ Redick on the Thunder: "We saw a stat in our morning meeting, teams that have had back-to-back, 10 or more better net ratings in consecutive seasons, you're talking about the '95-'96 Bulls and '96-'97 Bulls and the '15-'17 Warrriors. You're literally talking about two of the greatest teams of all time. I said to a bunch of people yesterday off site talking about this series, to me, the Thunder is one of the greatest teams ever in NBA history. It's just the reality. They're that good. I think our guys recognize that and respect that, and we know what kind of task we have in front of us."
