@mttlnrd This is not true or backed by any fact. All of those schools tried to schedule better and were rejected. This happens every year

All that today has shown me so far is that we need a system that gets teams like UNCW, Yale, Belmont, SFA, etc more of a shot at an at-large bid.

Good losses mean more than numerous wins against whoever will schedule you, right?

High Point went 30-4, hasn't lost since mid-January - and wouldn't have sniffed an at large bid Miami (OH) went undefeated in the regular season, finished 31-1 and ended up in Dayton We REALLY need to re-evaluate how we go about selecting at-large teams for the NCAA Tournament

this is a great endorsement for mid-major basketball. win or lose, Miami of Ohio showing they belong. red hawks making the game fun with style of play and multiple players who can shoot threes. hope the committee takes a longer look at mid-major teams who win regular season but lose in conference tournament in the future.

@Aaron_Torres It's very simple. You limit the maximum number of bids from any league. Either arbitrarily (eg, you can only send 40% of your conference) or via conference records (if you're at or below 500, you don't qualify for the tourney).

@operaman86 @Aaron_Torres Only Miami (OH) was selected. High Point was an AQ. He's saying HP wouldn't have been selected had they lost in their CT. With current scheduling, fewer and fewer mid majors will get selected even if they are a top team because they can never make up in metrics
