This is genuinely outrageous. Those consuming streaming platforms already pay for those services, they have naff all to do with the BBC’s telly tax. This is the Government effectively forcing those who do not consume BBC content to be coerced into funding it.

@WolfieJay69 @arielhelwani JCP was on its arse in 1988, which is why Ted bought it and turned it into WCW. And it still took them almost a decade to turn a profit. Turner kept that company going until he had no say over their future. Without him, WCW wouldn’t have even existed.

@weeklohorror @IANdrewDiceClay It was 7pm handover during the 96-98 era, so you’d get Nitro from 7-9, then flick to Sky Sports and get Raw from 9-11, and eventually when Bravo showed ECW, you’d get that at around 11/12 so for a period, cable viewers basically had a 5hr block of the main companies back to back.

A reminder that TNT UK made a shockingly uninspired and mocking teaser for the debut of WCW Thunder. It started right after Nitro as well, so 5 hours of WCW on a Friday night (It was amazing!)

That is insane. And if people don’t pay, because a tenner for a pint of lager is madness, then prices will go up further as pubs struggle to make ends meet 33% of the price is duty. A sensible government would lower alcohol to support pubs. But we can’t afford to lower taxes 🙄

There's no Labour candidate for the borough council. Looks like they haven't put up candidates for quite a few wards around here (we have a Reform MP and are traditionally a very safe Tory area).
