Justice Bhat says that though Centre says in its affidavit that there are 10 PSUs who can manufacture and get licenses for the vaccines, Rs 4500 crores were given to vaccine manufacturers.

@Smart_Dummi @somnath1978 That is not wastage. When we open multi dose vials a certain amount of doses go waste. It's that. Also this amount is miniscule in terms of percentage of doses given. Vaccine hesitancy didn't affect the final outcome. It is being peddled as an excuse.

I find it uncomfortable that the court gets involved in deciding some of these policy issues, but extremely useful for the court to at the very least put questions to the Centre and have them put policies on record, since they aren't otherwise explaining to citizens.
