I do think an amount of the stuff actual hockey fans get annoyed about is counter intuitive to non sport fans - I never would've thought to Google what teams can play in the finals because I would just assume any teams can make it there

Capacity at the Trop is 20k less than most ballparks, the Rays have the 10th highest average ticket price and the 3rd highest median ticket price in MLB and still fill 67% of those seats in a small market. I know you’re sad because your baseball team sucks but don’t be lazy.

@MattSkyBurger It's awesome that Georgia State plays there lol its weird, it hardly fits, it's way just perfectly weird. Also, I love that they didn't tear down a 20 yr old stadium. And I watched enough Braves games to know people didn't go in the summer. Hot, muggy, terrible traffic...

Pretending that Turner Field is gone rather than its husk being disrespected by Georgia State is such a positive outlook on life.

@sactownjeremy @coachvint Nothing, but it's not an "investment". To me, this post reads more for the parents than for the kids. Of course a kid wants to play a game no matter the cost. Parents need to realize though, that they're going to spend a lot more than they get out of it. And most don't know that.

@coachvint spending that money is not "scholarship or bust". Some guys like to spend $10,000 a year on cars or other hobbies. What's wrong with investing in your kid to have fun especially if you really enjoy watching him play?

I talked a dad who told me he spent $10k a year on travel baseball between tourneys, travel, and gear for his son. He got a partial scholarship to D-2 school. If he had put the $10k in a mutual fund each year, he would have had about $190,000. The scholarship was $5k a year.

@legsanity There was no need to trade Roco and Dario for a disgruntled butler on an expiring contract with no assurance he’d re-sign. Then trading multiple 1sts for a career journeyman tobiass Harris to be a starter. We had a max slot available that summer do give to anyone. They rushed it

@ShotgunnSuge No revisionist history here, we traded a gpod prospect after 1 bad stretch when he was working back from injury. He was good the entire last season so bailing after a few bad weeks would be illogical. Thats also not selling high on a player which makes it more frustrating

As a hockey fan, it’s the Knicks. It’s a 52 year drought in the Mecca of Basketball. The Knicks are also a more universal brand and it would be the talk of the sports world for a while. The Canadiens winning would be only big in hockey circles.

@spongebobsloth When you do google him, read the whole story. He wasn't just found not guilty, he was exonerated. The judge determined that his accuser lied. Carter Hart was and remains, innocent of all charges.
