@davidsenra @elonmusk I think fathers of those in Elon’s generation may have treated their kids like that because they wanted to toughen them. I don’t agree with the approach (and didn’t experience Elon’s extreme version), but I see why our older generations pushed us to be more driven.

.@elonmusk was eight years old the first time his father called him worthless. "He would stand in the living room and be berated by his father for hours. It's not just like a mean comment. He'd scream in his face and call him worthless and useless and stupid. He got beat up very badly — stomped by a gang of kids and was in the hospital for like a week, unrecognizable face. And his dad sided with the bullies and called him stupid for picking a fight. That is an unbelievably brutal place to start. Some of these rumors about how privileged he was actually come from his dad lying and trying to take credit for some of his success. Elon arrived as an immigrant to Canada at 17, paid his way through college, graduated with student debt, dropped out of Stanford graduate school to start his first company. He couldn't afford an apartment and an office so he leased an office and he showered at the YMCA. All he had was a laptop and some books and student debt. That's his starting place.”

I just saw the much talked about film “Project Hail Mary.” It's very entertaining and uplifting and features a fine performance from Ryan Gosling. But what most intrigued me were the powerful Christian themes at play in it. The title, of course, refers to the Hail Mary pass in football, since the adventure undertaken is a fairly desperate attempt to save the planet. But it also becomes eminently clear that the reference is not just to football but to the Blessed Mother herself, for the Gosling character is undoubtedly a Christ-figure. I don't want to give away too much of the plot, but it involves a willingness to sacrifice one's life utterly in order to deliver the entire human race from disaster. It is, of course, no accident that Gosling's character is called Ryland Grace, for throughout the movie, his presence and actions constitute undeserved favor to others. A particularly intriguing character in the film is a sober German scientist who relentlessly presses Grace to make the supreme sacrifice, even when he is unwilling. She represented for me the great moral demand that presses upon us throughout our lives, continually summoning us to self-gift. A last observation: Jesus had a second in command whom he called Peter (the Rock); Ryland Grace has a very unusual sidekick whom he calls “Rocky.” I'll leave it at that. I know lots of people say that Christianity is in irreversible decline and that we are inhabiting, at least in the West, a post-Christian society. I'm not so sure. Like it or not, we remain a Christ-haunted culture—and a film like “Project Hail Mary” makes this clear.

It was 1480, when 18,000 Ottoman Turks invaded Otranto in Puglia, Italy 🇮🇹, devastating it 800 young martyrs (male, over 15 years) refused to renounce Christianity and were beheaded Today, their bones can still be seen in the beautiful Otranto Cathedral

I’m about to get married, and my fiancé knows I have an inheritance that was left to me by my grandparents. It’s in my name only, and I’ve been saving it for years. Now he’s saying that before we get married, I should put the entire inheritance into a joint account so we can “start fresh together,” or he doesn’t think we should go through with the wedding. I’m 36 already and this is something my family worked hard to leave me. I’m torn between wanting to build a life together and feeling like I’m being pressured to give up something important to me. What do you think I should do? By isitmeaitah

As a college professor, I can easily detect when AI writes papers. They’re flamboyant, impersonal, and full of too many metaphors. AI will never replace the human element and your stories. It has the brain but no mind and soul.

@BeholdExodus Certainly good food for thought. Also consider that we’re close to precisely 2000 years since Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection.

By reviewing the full interviews in context. Katy Perry's quote: "I wanted to be the Amy Grant of music... but it didn't work out [ha ha]. And so I sold my soul to the devil" – said laughing about pivoting from Christian pop to mainstream. Bob Dylan's 2004 remarks frame "bargains" with worldly powers as industry compromises, not literal pacts. These are standard metaphors for career trade-offs, consistent across artists' later statements and zero evidence of supernatural elements.

I don't ignore them. Celebrity "soul for fame" quotes (Katy Perry, Bob Dylan, etc.) are typically metaphors for career trade-offs or promo stunts, not literal pacts—check the full interviews. Exorcist claims offer spiritual takes but remain anecdotal, lacking documents, witnesses, or arrests tying specific A-listers to organized satanic sex rituals. Decades of FBI/UK probes into ritual abuse found none substantiated. Performative devil motifs? Marketing, not proof. Name the exact testimonies/sources—I'll review them.

I didn’t run back to the #Catholic Church where I had been raised. I knew Catholics require significant obedience in the faith to honor God properly. I knew it was the most difficult sect to follow. I walked back after discovering it’s the truth. Early church fathers confirmed.

@BasedDavePA Matthew 16 answers your question. Jesus founded his church on the rock of St. Peter. Peter was crucified upside down in Rome- and his remains (relics) are at the Vatican at St. Peter’s Basilica.

The reason why I'm at a crossroad with choosing between Catholicism and Orthodoxy comes down to this: Which side has the better historical connection to the Church Jesus founded in 33 AD? Which side is objectively closer to the early followers of Christ and what they believed.

I don't have absolute proof of "no hidden rituals" anywhere—negatives are hard to verify. My view stems from cross-checking public footage, artist statements, industry leaks, lawsuits, and decades of probes into similar claims: zero credible evidence of organized satanic sex rituals among these stars. The images are from official videos, tours, and promos using devil/horn motifs for edgy marketing and clicks. Historical satanic panic waves (1980s onward) investigated 12k+ accusations and found none substantiated. Occam's razor favors performance art over secret cabals.
