@Data782 If they need this much help to create a quality product, then they are already dead in the water. Give up the exclusive rights and allow others to take a crack at a decent game.

This confirms 2 things about Connected Franchise in #NHL27: 1. No fantasy draft (but the ability to use custom rosters means you could in a roundabout way). 2. The devs KNOW & are not trying to hide/sugarcoat that things are missing, but need your FEEDBACK to guide the future.

@HabsFan0998 Je suis *100%* sûr qu'ils le feront 😂 If you want a true Franchise Connected experience, it seems like NHL 27 will probably let you down. My advice is to wait for NHL 28 and buy that instead

@Data782 Copy/paste regular franchise mode to start, but make it playable with 1-31 friends w/each controlling their own team, & continue to improve the mode to be better than other sports games' franchise modes like we have all wanted. Also, make the games playable co-op style.

@DWynkoop They don't, though. They know that the mode is incomplete & are admitting that. Is that infuriating? Absolutely. But then why are they asking for feedback on something so obvious? It must be that the higher-ups at EA aren't allocating the proper resources or something of the sort

@Data782 If they think this is an acceptable mode, and need feedback to know that people want online franchise like in literally every other EA Sports game the devs deserve to be fired. I’m sorry that level of incompetence is unacceptable

@TheChelBoys That they're acknowledging the absence of a draft as something missing from the mode tells me that there's something holding them back. Maybe the higher-ups at EA need to see an outcry for the devs to convince them to allocate more resources? Hard to know but I agree - it's crazy

@Data782 Why do they need feedback to know there should be a draft in a franchise mode??? That’s a level of incompetence that needs addressed. Monday morning id be cutting half the staff.

@BruinsWyan2 Absolutely. That they know things are missing & want feedback, though, makes me think that it's something deeper. Maybe the smaller NHL dev team needs to convince the higher-ups at EA by garnering attention? Because I agree - there's no chance they're clueless to what we want 😂

@Data782 It just shouldn’t be hard to understand that people wanted an online version of franchise mode and therefore wanted the key features of offline franchise mode to be implemented in it

@kylefromda1900s Absolutely! There's still a lot to learn about Connected Franchise and we're like 7-ish weeks away from the game dropping so I'm going to force myself to take things slow this summer haha, but a call to recruit will definitely happen around mid/late August. Stay tuned!

@Data782 Any plans to start recruiting for a connected squad? offline gm mode and online vs are my go to. But GM in very intriguing. Just don’t have a big social community online.

Huge news and it changes a lot for Connected Franchise. Still more to be done, but the ability to create & use your own roster in GM Connected will alow you to use you and your friends' fantasy leagues, do your own draft, etc. I say again, still more to be done but this is big!

@Data782 If there is no scouting/drafting then what is the point in it being a "franchise" mode? Is each team just going to be assigned random cpu generated players to fill in their rosters as old players cycle out? Seems super weird, but curious to hear more.

So it's kind of like a fantasy league within Franchise. No scouting/drafting but you can still trade, sign free agents, get injuries, etc. year-over-year. Obviously we want a full GM Connected but I'm honestly not that upset YET. It's clear that it's still a work in progress.

Reflecting more on GM Connected for #NHL27: 1. Yes, we have a right to be upset. 2. No, you shouldn't buy the game if the mode stays barebones like this. 3. We shouldn't pass final judgment until more info comes since we've only seen a 30-second trailer for a game 2 months away.

Been thinking a bit on the #NHL27 GM Connected news… We waited 13+ years for the return of GM Connected and after all that time, this has got to be the most barebones mode ever released. For the last few years, EA has talked about dedicating a team and resources to bringing this mode back. I think it’s fair to not have EVERY Franchise Mode feature in to start (Drafting, Developing, AI controlled teams, etc.) but to have NONE of them is crazy. It’s just impossible to believe this is 1-3 years of work. Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited to jump in with friends and viewers. We’ll have a ton of fun moments and great content come from it…but it’s also fair to say people will be disappointed. The community needed and deserved more. I hope this is truly the start of something great and EA continues building it into the mode we’ve all been asking for. I’m just worried that the lack of features will cause people to quit the mode entirely. Then we’ll hear about how “no one plays it” as it stops getting developer support. A proper GM Connected could be one of the most played modes in the game if done correctly. Time will tell. Let’s hope for the best.

@JTLittleWad You have no idea how much I've criticized EA for over a decade 😂 Just trying to not overreact to a 30 second trailer in July for a mode that will be out in September. If I were telling you to buy a half-baked mode (which I'm not), I'd be happy to lick that boot.

@joshuaS_10 I'd actually recommend not buying it if that's the case! I'm not saying let's all buy a work in progress, I'm saying I'm glad to see that we're finally moving in the right direction. Absolutely don't buy it until it's proper.

@zachregnier Don't get me wrong - I've never been one to give excuses for EA, it's 10+ years of what feels like bashing on my part haha but the ugly truth is that EA doesn't give enough resources to NHL. If we have to endure this 27 version for the real thing in 28, I could survive. Big "if."

I'm disappointed that we're not getting the full experience on day 1, but I still think that there are some positives here. With no scouting/drafting, my biggest question now would be: can we do fantasy drafts? If no, finding someone to take basement-dwelling teams won't be easy
