@nearmediaco have you guys looked at how many GBP review responses are being done via AI? I suspect this is/will be a big thing.

@nearmediaco UK has better consumer protection laws, and Goog doesn't want that heat. Same reason they disclaim on Maps with "We do not verify reviews" - Doubt they bring it to the US.

UK businesses being told that LSA review process will be replaced with GBP reviews. While the GBP review process is much, much better than LSA, that still isn't saying much nearmedia.co/lsa-reviews-to…

@JoyanneHawkins @gyitsakalakis @darcyburk A state bar is very close to regulative action against a lawyer for egregious fake reviews. Google has also implemented new review block penalties, but they have been random, and far and few between. Once the new fake review laws are out, FTC and AG's will sing a different tune!

@lilyraynyc @searchliaison I’ve noticed people at Google don’t like to respond to negative inquiries about things are doing wrong. Seems like they feign ignorance at the issue(s) perhaps “not be responsible” for things they remain “unaware” of. To me, based on available resources - this is evil.

Serious question for you @searchliaison: For 6+ years, and throughout the QRG, Google has shared that YMYL queries - presumably like "weight loss" - require the highest levels of E-E-A-T. For 6+ years, we've seen sites like the CDC and Harvard ranking prominently for these queries, plus Google's own "symptom search" knowledge panel, which was also supposedly curated using information from the Mayo Clinic and Harvard. Why, then, is it ok for Google to add a "Discussions and Forums" carousel above all of these E-E-A-T-driven medical results when we are seeing very clearly how Reddit is being overtaken by affiliate spam and scammers? This is not the only such YMYL query where Discussions and Forums ranks so prominently. Isn't this a big dangerous for Google?

Forgive the keyword, I promise it only came up in SEO research, lol. After the first several results, literally every one of these sites is spam. This isn't exactly a low volume keyword.

In 2016 I paid an ethical-ish hacker 3 bitcoins for spotting a vulnerability in Reviews.io. Today that's over 200k. Do you think if I get back in touch he will drop me a bit of a refund 🤣

Marvel was sued today for copyright infringement. Graphic artist Darius Alas says Marvel copied his artwork and used it in the poster art for Marvel's Werewolf by Night project. What do you think?

😱This new spamming technique is BONKERS. I just escalated a thread on the forum, so hopefully Google fixes it soon. Several businesses with completely different addresses are all now showing up pinned at the same location. I think there is a good chance this is intentional. Why? Because Google filters out businesses at the same location. So if you want your competitors to disappear, just move their pins to the same location, and they will vanish on Google. Forum link in reply.
