A police officer in Los Angeles shot and killed a dog in front of its owner. The Los Angeles Police Department has announced an investigation into an incident that shocked the city. During a call to an apartment complex, one officer shot and killed a two-year-old Goldendoodle named Jamison. Police were called after reports of a woman screaming inside an apartment. It was later determined to be a false alarm: the dog's owner, Marie Marseille, and her family were simply celebrating a New York Knicks NBA victory in an emotional manner. When officers arrived, they asked the family to restrain the barking dog, but Jamison still ran out the door. At that point, the officer fired four shots at the pet. The dog died at the scene. Police claim that Jamison "attacked" the officers. However, the owner insists that he was friendly and non-aggressive and ran toward them out of excitement and curiosity. Body-camera footage released by the LAPD shows that Jamison was wearing an official Knicks shirt at the time he was killed. The incident has outraged residents, who have begun filing formal complaints with the LAPD and created an impromptu memorial with toys and flowers in Jamison's honor. Karen Bass called the incident a tragedy and promised a fair and transparent investigation.

@kukla_reaper @OlenaRohoza If that large dog catches an artery or decides to harm the cops, then it could be serious. He justifiably shot the dog and it's the owners fault. Just literally had to listen to the cop and everything would have been ok.

The dog tries to get out right away when the door was opened the first time and barked aggressively, the officers even warned the residents ahead of time. The residents didn't listen and the dog rushed an officer. Sad, owners at fault though.

I saw the footage and the cop was a crybaby. His bark maybe was loud but even I would not be scared if he came at me cause he would've felt I wasn't scared and he would've just wanted to play ! And the way the cop said fffuuck was like if Jameson was a police K9 !

They either didn't listen to what the cops said or couldn't physically stop their dog from rushing people outside their place

@Dave378138 @oledicktwist police have protocols in place on what to do if a dog is potentially aggressive…being petrified and shooting the dog after no signs of aggression is not one of them.

I got bit in the throat by my friend’s pitbull and I went to the bathroom, cleaned myself up, went down, got an uber, and caught a 4 hour flight back home. I never once considered hurting that dog.
