The renewable revolution away from fossil fuels has already started - but we have to ensure that it’s a revolution that includes every country & that is just.

Never mind about the children's hospital. Stephen Donnelly is rolling out free contraception for 16-year-olds. That's what really counts. independent.ie/irish-news/det…

@MikeSav51408235 @Niall_Boylan Age of consent in Ireland is 18. Sex with a minor of 17 is unlawful carnal knowledge. If she was 18, it would be acceptable, but she's an adult.. If she's having sex with him, she's breaking the law. If it was a 32 year old man with a 17 year old, people would want him jailed
English

@DaveFox1787248 @Niall_Boylan In Ireland the age of consent is 17, so he's not a minor on that count.

Some white junkie steals a car, inadvertently taking the child therein and, even after the child has been recovered, a description of the suspect is made public. An Indian man deliberately snatches a child and a judge attempts to withold his identity.
Have I got that right?

@CWeston_Indo Premiums have actually gone up. I'm told that insurance companies are loading people now for any and all penalty points. As a taxi driver, last year, my premium was around €1550. This year, it's around €1650. I don't have any penalty points. 🤷♂️

@TheMandyGall @therabbithole In Ireland, the reason is mostly financial. Childcare cost equates to a 2nd mortgage.

Am really worried for Arteta. Look how Klopp run out of energy competing against these cheats. Man must be having sleepless night trying to improve his team only to be let down by incompetent refs.

"It's the second time it's happened in five games... it's really, really worrying" 😬 Mikel Arteta was not happy with refereeing inconsistencies after Arsenal's draw with Manchester City 🗣

@CookieKamo Your numbers don't add up. Trossard was sent off by City's "on the payroll" ref, and you don't count the goalkeeper in a formation. I knew city fans were thick, but you brought it down to a new level.

@marywallace07 @Glenna_lynch @HelenOT60 Why believe the polls? Remember the landslide Yes/Yes predicted for the last referendum? They make these things up.
English

@Glenna_lynch @HelenOT60 I don’t understand why FG are doing well in the polls, the deplorable state they have this country in definitely no reason to vote for the. Poverty, Corruption,Homelessness,Healthcare, all failures. Who in their right mind would want them?
English

I don’t understand why there is such surprise in Sinn Fein at their fall in polls. They offered no representation for the population during the Covid years, then when the migration crisis started to impact, they literally went full Clinton and the “ deplorables”.
They have fully adopted both race and gender theory. They had one USP that they might have relied on.. supporters felt SF were on their side. That they came from the same place. Now, like so many parties, they’re only short of being ashamed of their base. Another party that exists for itself. Democracy be damned when “progressives” know best.

@RupertPitt1 @daveatherton English born Soldiers? Where were the Irish, Scots, and Welsh? Also, Pakistan and Bangladesh didn't exist until Britain partitioned the county. You're welcome.
English

From 1853 to 1948 Britain ruled India, Pakistan and Bangladesh and then peacefully left. There were no violent protests against the British, and Gandhi who led the struggle for Independence worked with the British Army in the Boer War 1899-1903. The British administration in India made Gandhi a judge in the 1930s..
Britain had an army in India which only had 400,000 English born soldiers the rest of the Indian Army, 900,000 was composed of Indians voluntarily.
In the 2nd World War the Indian Army fought WITH the British Army from February 1945 to expel the Japanese from Burma and fought 2 battles against the Japanese at Kohima and Imphal.
It is clear that Britain enjoyed good relations with the Indian citizens.
Yet we are consistently told the British are racist, incompetent, corrupt and more and ruled India badly. Some Newspapers and some media, not all state this.
In August 2024 Sheik Hasina who ruled Bangladesh for 13 years had to flee Bangladesh to live in exile in India. There had been riots In Bangladesh for 4 weeks about corruption and nepotism by Sheik Hassina.
Yet this has hardly been covered in the media.
Why is it the British are accused of racism, incompetence and corruption, but reports of the President of Bangladesh being corrupt and incompetent are barely reported?
Isn’t this racist British white people are racist corrupt incompetent but if it is the President of Bangladesh it won’t be reported?
