@anatelorenzen @SenWarren this is the real answer.. the government can prove this is no longer happening -- zero incremental tax should be raised.

Jeff Bezos has $222 billion. If he paid my wealth tax this year, we could fund insulin in America for everyone who needs it plus free school lunch for every kid in Texas—and have plenty of money left over. And Bezos would still have $215 billion dollars to spare.

The math every CFO just ran this morning makes me physically sick US senior engineer: $280k total comp, equity, benefits, PTO, healthcare, 401k match Offshore team lead plus three junior devs plus enterprise Claude API: $35k total Same output. Same quality. Half the timeline because the AI doesn't take coffee breaks or have opinions about code reviews CFO pulls up the spreadsheet: 847 US engineers at average $240k = $203M annually Replace with 200 offshore leads managing AI workflows = $7M annually $196M saved. Stock price jumps 8% on the earnings call when they announce "operational efficiency gains" The kicker: they're keeping 50 US engineers as "AI orchestration specialists" at $320k each because someone needs to manage the offshore teams Those 50 get promoted. LinkedIn posts about "evolving with technology" and "embracing the AI revolution" The other 797 get managed out over 18 months through stack ranking and performance improvement plans Board calls it "rightsizing for the AI era" Wall Street calls it "margin expansion" Your manager calls it "an exciting opportunity to transition your career" You call it Tuesday morning when your badge stops working

Numbers are off. US seniors are $140-190k outside of FAANG. Offshore team lead is $70k, juniors $30k each and rising double digit annually. Multiply by2.5x if using an agency. Claude API at scale is $500-2k/mo per resource. You can’t do full time coding on $40-100/mo plans. $175k vs $208k ($448k agency) Most of the best offshore developers already sponsored for work and living in US, Canada and Europe. Pot luck finding high caliber equivalent from remaining pool of mostly CMS/website devs.

@itsmichaelnorth @MatrixMysteries @grok believe this is half true, the cap is on the rate itself NOT the total interest paid over the life of the loan? Meaning you pay interest at the rate for the entire life of the loan until it is paid infill.

Thats not even remotely how student loans work. Maybe do any amount of research before believing posts with no actual evidence. She literally wrote some words down with fucking toddler markers on a notepad, and you trusted this person wholeheartedly, when a 3 second google search will tell you that the CAP for interest on federal student loans is 6.4% of the TOTAL LOAN. Meaning the TOTAL interest can NEVER get higher than 6.4% of the original loan. If you get a 10k loan, it will TOTAL $10,640 AFTER interest. If you ONLY pay the interest, which would only be around $8 a month, and didnt pay a single shred of your actual loan off, THEN you would still owe the loan amount after "years of paying it", even though they literally only paid $8 a month

An American takes out a student loan for $8,645. After years of payments, he’s paid $7,450. His current balance? $8,750. He’s paid thousands — and somehow still owes MORE than the original loan. This isn’t “education financing” — it’s usury, and it should be illegal.

Let me explain exactly why every new subdivision in America looks like the top photo, because the math is wild. A mature tree increases a home's value by 7 to 19 percent. On a $400,000 house, that's $28,000 to $76,000. A single shade tree produces the cooling equivalent of ten room-size air conditioners running 20 hours a day. One tree on the west side of a house cuts energy bills by 12 percent within 15 years. The bottom photo is worth more, costs less to live in, and sells faster. This has been documented by the University of Washington, Clemson, Michigan State, and the USDA. The data is not in dispute. Removing those trees saves the builder roughly $5,000 per lot. Concrete trucks need twice the dripline radius of every standing tree. Utility trenches need flat ground. A bulldozer flattens 200 lots in an afternoon. Preserving trees adds weeks and thousands per home. So the developer pockets $5,000 in savings and the buyer eats $50,000 in lost value for the next two decades. The person making the decision and the person paying for it have never been in the same room. The Woodlands, Texas is the proof of what happens when they are. George Mitchell bought 28,000 acres of Houston timberland in 1974 and preserved 28% as permanent green space. He forced McDonald's to build behind the tree canopy. That McDonald's became one of the highest-volume locations in Texas. The first office building, designed to reflect the surrounding forest so you couldn't see it from the street, leased completely. The Woodlands median home price today: $615,000. Katy, a comparable Houston suburb that clear-cut: $375,000. Named #1 community to live in America two years running. Fifty years of data. The trees are worth more than removing them saves. Developers clear-cut anyway because they sell the house once and leave. You live in it for 30 years.

JUST IN: An arrest warrant has been issued for a Kentucky cheerleader who was accused of secretly giving birth before putting the baby in a trash bag. A grand jury has voted to indict Laken Snelling, a former beauty queen, for manslaughter in the first degree. The decision by the grand jury was made after hearing that the baby was born alive. According to the Lexington Police Department, the cause of death was determined to be "asphyxia by undetermined means." She is facing 10 to 20 years in prison.

NEW: University of Kentucky student arrested after her baby was found deceased in a trash bag inside a closet. 21-year-old Laken Snelling has been charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and concealing the birth of an infant. Snelling is a member of the Kentucky Stunt team, according to the school. "We can confirm that she has been a member of the STUNT team for the last three seasons. All other questions should be directed to the Lexington Police," the university said in a statement. According to the citation, the "infant was located wrapped in a towel inside of a black trash bag." During her interview with police, Snelling "admitted to giving birth." Horrific.

This morning I called James and congratulated him on becoming the Senate nominee. Texas is primed to turn blue and we must remain united because this is bigger than any one person. This is about the future of all 30 million Texans and getting America back on track. With the primary behind us, Democrats must rally around our nominees and win. I’m committed to doing my part and will continue working to elect democrats up and down the ballot.
