Is AI infrastructure becoming the market’s next durable growth layer, or are expectations running ahead of economic reality? On @SchwabNetwork’s 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘵 𝘖𝘯 𝘊𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦, @TheFuturumGroup’s @DaveN007 examined @CoreWeave’s latest expansion through major AI infrastructure deals with @AnthropicAI and @Meta. He discussed whether the rise in large-scale data center partnerships reflects a lasting shift in demand, or a more speculative cycle shaped by concentrated customers, rising debt exposure, and still-unproven ROI. David also addressed the broader competitive landscape, including ongoing chip demand and the evolving roles of @nvidia, @AMD, and @Broadcom across the AI stack. He further noted that companies such as @OpenAI and @AnthropicAI are helping reshape the software landscape, raising important questions about how durable legacy software models may be in an AI-driven market. ▶️ Watch the segment for David’s analysis of CoreWeave’s expansion, AI infrastructure demand, and ROI pressure. #AI #SchwabNetwork #TechMarkets #Futurum

AI investors are no longer rewarding spending alone. They are looking for clear evidence that infrastructure buildout can generate measurable returns. On @SchwabNetwork’s 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 360, @TheFuturumGroup’s @DaveN007 described the current environment as a “show me the money” phase, with markets placing increased emphasis on execution and return on investment. He also identified several operational risks that deserve close attention, including power constraints, incomplete server deliveries, and data center projects that remain well short of full operational readiness. David explained that the next phase of the AI trade will be defined less by projected demand and more by an organization’s ability to translate large-scale investment into operational progress, measurable ROI, and sustainable end-user value. ▶️ Watch the segment for David’s analysis of AI ROI, infrastructure bottlenecks, and the signals investors should be monitoring next. #AI #SchwabNetwork #TechMarkets #Futurum

Oracle is building yesterday's data centers with tomorrow's debt Frontier labs like OpenAI want the newest chips. But Nvidia is shipping a new generation annually while data centers still take years to get up and running. That's a mismatch for the whole AI trade Oracle, funding it with $100B in debt, may be first to crack

Is the recent tech sell-off a structural shift, or a sentiment reset around AI? On @SchwabNetwork’s 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘵 𝘖𝘯 𝘊𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦, @TheFuturumGroup’s @DaveN007 characterized the pullback in Amazon and broader AI names as largely sentiment-driven, tied to rising scrutiny around ROI and elevated CapEx. He noted that demand across the AI infrastructure layer remains strong, with suppliers still operating against capacity constraints. Nicholson added that while upcoming earnings, particularly from Nvidia, could influence short-term momentum, the long-term AI investment thesis remains intact. He also addressed concerns around SaaS disruption, emphasizing that enterprise adoption will center on governed, integrated platforms with clear accountability and risk controls. ▶️ Watch the full segment for insights on AI sentiment, infrastructure demand, and software implications. #AI #SchwabNetwork #TechMarkets #SaaS #Futurum

Qualcomm (QCOM) and Arm (ARM) shares faced pressure following earnings, as rising memory costs weighed on margins and contributed to broader semiconductor volatility. On @SchwabNetwork’s 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘓𝘪𝘴𝘵, @TheFuturumGroup’s Chief Research Officer, @DaveN007, explained that the recent weakness reflects a supply issue, not a demand issue. He pointed to ongoing memory constraints as the primary headwind, emphasizing that overall AI demand remains strong. According to Nicholson, @Qualcomm and @Arm remain well positioned in the inference market, where efficiency is critical as AI shifts from large-scale training to real-world deployment. He also highlighted Broadcom’s role in custom AI accelerators for companies like @Google, noting that @Broadcom and @nvidia represent complementary forces within the expanding AI ecosystem. ▶️ Watch the full segment for deeper insights into how supply dynamics, inference efficiency, and AI infrastructure trends are shaping the semiconductor outlook. #Semiconductors #AI #SchwabNetwork #Futurum

The biggest long-term threat to AI data center trade isn’t AI demand slowing but it's edge AI. Once your phone can run a “good enough” model locally for free then inference shifts from always-on to only when necessary.  Data centers get called for the hardest problems while everything else runs on the device you already paid for.

We are hiring a Head of Preparedness. This is a critical role at an important time; models are improving quickly and are now capable of many great things, but they are also starting to present some real challenges. The potential impact of models on mental health was something we saw a preview of in 2025; we are just now seeing models get so good at computer security they are beginning to find critical vulnerabilities. We have a strong foundation of measuring growing capabilities, but we are entering a world where we need more nuanced understanding and measurement of how those capabilities could be abused, and how we can limit those downsides both in our products and in the world, in a way that lets us all enjoy the tremendous benefits. These questions are hard and there is little precedent; a lot of ideas that sound good have some real edge cases. If you want to help the world figure out how to enable cybersecurity defenders with cutting edge capabilities while ensuring attackers can't use them for harm, ideally by making all systems more secure, and similarly for how we release biological capabilities and even gain confidence in the safety of running systems that can self-improve, please consider applying. This will be a stressful job and you'll jump into the deep end pretty much immediately. openai.com/careers/head-o…

🚨 Here is the full 42 minutes of my crew and I exposing Minnesota fraud, this might be my most important work yet. We uncovered over $110,000,000 in ONE day. Like it and share it around like wildfire! Its time to hold these corrupt politicians and fraudsters accountable We ALL work way too hard and pay too much in taxes for this to be happening, the fraud must be stopped.

This is trolling or profound ignorance. PV solar array would need to be massive. ISS power system couldn’t power a single rack. Cooling is a huge problem in space. I’m not sure how to even begin to explain this to someone who doesn’t get this. You know what happens if you get “thrown out of an airlock”? The liquid in your body boils away.

"The most important thing in the next 3-4 years is data centers in space. In every way, data centers in space, from a first principles perspective, are superior to data centers on earth. In space, you can keep a satellite in the sun 24 hours a day. The sun is 30% more intense, which results in six times more irradiance than on Earth. So you don't need a battery. The cooling in these data centers is incredibly complicated. Space cooling is free. You just put a radiator on the dark side of the satellite. The only thing faster than a laser going through a fiber optic cable is a laser going through absolute vacuum. Link satellites with lasers, and you have a faster and more coherent network than any data center on Earth."

This is my fifth conversation with @GavinSBaker. Gavin understands semiconductors and AI as well as anyone I know and has a gift for making sense of the industry's complexity and nuance. We discuss: - Nvidia vs Google (GPUs + TPUs) - Scaling laws and reasoning models - The economics of AI compute - Why Blackwell's delay mattered - The bear case on the AI capex buildout - Data centers in space - The mistake SaaS companies are making Few people love investing more than Gavin. His closing answer about why he loves it turned into a full reflection on his investing origin story, which I had never heard before. Enjoy!
