@BriAnimator_ I was lukewarm about it at first, but have enjoyed it more every time since. Evil Dead is my favorite horror franchise, so I’m certainly more picky with this one 😅 I will say this, though: I love the pro-motherhood message in this movie. That’s where this film stands out, imo

What a good gory, chaotic entry to the Evil Dead franchise… Love the dark, grimy apartment setting. Love that all the main characters are female. Lee Cronin did a great job adapting the Evil Dead story to a modern family & modern world. Very creative. Can't wait to see what he does with The Mummy adaption. @jonthemovieguy Same! Bring him back and then the sequel gets to be a fun slasher without the whodunnit element. They could make this thing a trilogy where we get three different flavors of the slasher sub-genre

@DaveyDeathRay I can't wait for Thanksgiving 2. I hope they continue Patrick Dempsey's story as opposed to having a new killer in the sequel. I want crispy Dempsey behind the mask. Give me gnarly burn makeup, and I'm happy. Imagine a Phantom of the Opera style unmasking scene at the end!

so many movies out there with great concepts and poor executions, but let's remake the masterpieces always...

@jonthemovieguy @HorrorLovesBeth Yes, and Thanksgiving is very similar to My Bloody Valentine. Odd, too, because both MBV and The Prowler came out in ‘81. I think they were both very inspirational to him. What a great flick Thanksgiving turned out to be. Now, where’s that sequel…? 2027? 🤞

@DaveyDeathRay @HorrorLovesBeth Eli Roth's Thanksgiving is basically a remake of The Prowler. Lots of scenes and plot points directly mirror The Prowler, right down to the killer reveal. I wonder if Eli did it subconsciously or if it was intentional?
