@BarleyPlanet Hi, RGT Planet has been grown in Australia for several years and is best adapted to the higher yield environments (in an Australian context, that is greater than 4t/ha). In the Australian context, the variety would not be considered as drought resilient.

Interesting RGT Planet has drought resilience. Is that why it has been so widely adopted. Wonder where it gets the character from? Does the translocation play a role?

💡Excited to share our latest research, co-authored with friends from the BARISTA @BaristaFor project. We delve into drought responses in barley cultivars, finding Cv. RGT as a promising candidate for drought resilience. Read more: doi.org/10.3389/fpls.2… @suscrop #betterbarley

@KithsiriJayase3 @InterGrain1 @DPIRDWA @theGRDC Thanks Kith, but something for you to watch: Neo is excellent for SFNB and PM, good for NFNB but is leaf rust susceptible (not bad, but it is susceptible) ... it's one weakness ... please manage.

We would be more than happy to host the 5th #Ashes test match at @strathalbyncc. Our sight screens would need to be made red ball friendly but that can be arranged #Ashes2021 🏏

@DMAg_consultant @nullaboo48 @InterGrain1 We had quite severe brackling at a WA trial site. Maximus was the standout variety in terms of brackling tolerance/resistance. Spartacus and La Trobe were bad but there were others that were worse! 😄

A few RWA moving into our resistance/seed dressing trial at Coomalbidgup. Testing out how good the resistance in IGB1954 really is. Stay posted. Thanks Svet Micic and Luke Marquis for your support. @InterGrain1

Launching COMMODUS CL (IGB1908), our newest IMI barley! Agronomically similar to Compass and well suited to medium-low rainfall environments, it’s worth a look!

@mrlange81 @agrobaz The tolerance comes from a couple of proteins which can fight the issues caused by RWA. I think the gene is Dn-1 - not something wide spread in Aust stock but maybe you are seeing low level tolerance?? Hoping these new lines can offer help 💪

🌾 Has anyone got RWA 🐛 infections in their cereals? If so is there more damage in certain varieties than others? We certainly see more damage in the poorer soils.

@iank1963 Do you want resistant varieties or can it be easily managed? What options to you have if imidacloprid is banned in Australia?

After 12 years via Trangie, Coonamble then Wagga, I finish up with NSW DPI today. Thanks to all who gave me a go, even though I was relatively unqualified and inexperienced. Looking forward to more days at the farm, some private agronomy work and keeping in the research game.
