@AlecStapp Am I wrong in that the initial idea of the lab leak theory is that it was purposefully released by the CCP to damage trump and republicans, writ large, and not that it was an accidental leak where the people floating this idea wanted to highlight the dangers of these bio labs?

1. We’ll likely never have certainty about the origins of COVID 2. Authority figures/gatekeepers were wrong to label the lab leak hypothesis a conspiracy theory 3. Regardless of whether it was a lab leak, lab safety is underrated & gain-of-function research needs more oversight

California regulator just rejected a proposal for a desalination plant that would have provided 50 million gallons of drinking water per day. They said the water would be “too expensive for low-income consumers.” Genius logic during a drought… 🤦

All this adds to a feeling there’s an unlimited money pit for military adventurism abroad, and means tested welfare at home.

I find the "why don't we spend money here instead of in Ukraine" stuff really disheartening. Here we have a pretty clear-cut chance to preserve democracy and independence for a country with a larger population than California and you just...don't want to?
