@neverthatever @sneako Corrected and concise: I am thankful that the apostle Paul came to Macedonia, found Lydia, and preached the word to her.

This juxtaposition is crazy. Diesel near me just hit $3.59/L - about $280 to fill a Ford Ranger. At the same time, renewables via the grid were supplying my house at 5c/kWh today. At these rates, one Ranger fill-up costs more than charging my EV for a year.

@gmh_2068 @aaronsmith Possibly yes but that would be a generalisation. I am more concerned for the middle to low income earners that make up the majority of Australians and typically cant without entering some type of detrimental finance agreement.

If the Labor government is serious about addressing the fuel crisis, then it should be serious about efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. So why was Australia not involved in this joint statement from allies? Did we decline? Or — perhaps worse — were we never consulted?
British Embassy Washington@UKinUSA

NEW: The UK alongside France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Japan expresses readiness to contribute to appropriate efforts to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz 👇 gov.uk/government/new…

“Australian banks pay more than $4 billion each year in charges on top of their company tax obligations, while international juggernauts like Apple, Google and Meta get an easy ride on tax and regulation, says Australian Banking Association chief executive Simon Birmingham. The system is unfair and should be reformed to safeguard federal government revenue, says the head of the influential lobby group in an opinion article ahead of his appearance at The Australian Financial Review Bank conference.” V “Assistant Treasurer Daniel Mulino has indicated the Albanese government may be open to tax changes to accommodate massive new investment in data centres, but says Australia still remains a coveted jurisdiction for the AI ambitions of US tech giants. The Australian Financial Review reported on Monday that tech giant Google was withholding a planned $20 billion investment in an AI and data centre hub in Australia because it was concerned it could expose its existing local operations to higher taxes.” ••••••••••••••••••••• This is so typical. Australian politicians bending over backwards to give wealthy multinationals a tax break while hard working Australians suffer through a cost of living crisis. And now Simon Birmingham is whinging about multinational tax evasion. Unbelievable! Why didnt he do something about it when he was Finance Minister? I raised this issue numerous times in the Coalition Party room and was ignored every time. It’s like there’s an invisible force field applied to politicians when they get into positions of power that stops them from putting people first. 🤦‍♂️ PeopleFirstParty.au is the only party that has the know how to stop these rorts once and for all.

VOTE ONE NATION IN SA ‘26 The Libertarian Party got the numbers for state registration in a Herculean effort in SA - then the SA government changed the law to require 8 months of rego required to be on the ballot. I believe Libertarians offer a unique absolutist stand on free speech, property rights, and opposing more government intervention and powers even for good aims with best intentions. I’ll always vote #1 libertarian where I can and encourage others to do so. For the 2026 SA election PHON is the only party with a chance of being a genuine opposition to labor, and voters have an opportunity to send a message to the uniparty. For the 2026 SA election this weekend I encourage anyone reading this post to vote One Nation.

“If we don’t help America, why is America going to help us?” Alliances are built on reciprocity — not dependence. If Australia wants support in a crisis, we must be willing to stand with our allies. 📺 On this episode of the Australia's Future podcast, former Prime Minister @HonTonyAbbott and Daniel Wild discuss the Australian and United States alliance and how walking away risks weakening one of our most important strategic relationships: bit.ly/4bUwM0z

@awright_1983 @aaronsmith Also valid. I will even defend EV tech here and say that the ICE has had the benefit of over 100 years to get where it is. EVs could play a role in the future, but I don't think we should be forcing adoption on the public through government ultimatum.

@aaronsmith @DavidDim_ocracy Yeah but no matter how pro-EV you are, you have to understand that EVs don't suit everyone. Great for the daily commute for a city office worker, horrible for long distances or rural living.

A DARK DAY FOR BRITAIN The UK has just crossed a line that should never be crossed. Abortion up to birth for any reason, at any stage now effectively legalised through the House of Lords. No limits. No accountability. No protection for the unborn. This isn’t progress. This is moral collapse. A truly dark day for Britain.
