Unfortunately, late last night, early this morning, there was an incident with our organiser, Michael, who was jumped by a group of Middle Eastern men. He was sitting on a public bench having a smoke when he was approached by a man of Middle Eastern appearance and his girlfriend. They had an interaction and when told to rack off, the girlfriend got angry and started to abuse Michael and tried to hit him. He pushed her away, which is when the altercation became physical between the male and Michael. Michael defended himself, but unfortunately couldn't do much when the attackers' friends ran over and joined in the fight against Michael, making it several men against one. He proceeded to try to defend himself, but unfortunately, was very hurt in the process. It is unclear if this was a targeted attack or random, as Michael's face has been all over social media and the news as the March For Australia Gold Coast Organiser for the past 24 hours. We have told him he doesn't need to continue leading the march, but being the patriot he is, he has decided the show must go on. We felt the need to address this and prepare you all as we didn't want people showing up tomorrow to see Michael all bruised up and be concerned or alarmed. What happened to Michael last night is one of the very reasons we March For Australia! Hope to see you all there. As always, stay alert, watch your surroundings, and if you see anything suspicious, let the closest marshal or police officer know.
