@CommBank signed up for a smart access account, there's no instant digital card or Google wallet as advertised. Talk with chat in circles like they can't check what it comes with & try to upsell a credit card. @up_banking don't have this problem.. nor ANZ plus, or Bendigo Bank.

@hashishrajan Fun one is going from the DC/hardware era to learning public cloud/APIs and now learning ai/MCP. From the last experience, my advice is to just build stuff and surround yourself with other builders. The consultant slide packs are always hollow at this point

I can empathise with folks in Tech who went through the Data Center to Public Cloud career transition, after years in Data Centers. AI is my first major career transition and it's definitely feels like the world is moving ahead of me with AI at times (especially here on X sometimes) I was not there for Data Centres wave because the world was starting to go into the Public Cloud transition. Now as I continue to transition after years in Public Cloud to AI, i can only imagine what the uncertainty would have felt like if i didn't stay on top of Public Cloud, AI. You were all awesome and would continue to be awesome with this wave of career transitions. Curious, if you have you gone through any big career transitions?

Normal people see "clean," but I see an unacceptable SLA. 99.9% means 8.77 hours of "uncontrolled germ-state" per year. Iif you aren't architecting your household for 99.999% reliability, you’re just living in a single point of failure

Rage Against the Machine never specified what type of machine they were furious with but I reckon it was probably a printer.

HOLY MOLY. I just did the sums on my electricity bills from when I joined @AmberElectricAU back in April 2022 through to my current bill I received today for December 2025. Anyone want to have a guess as to what electricity has cost this family of 5 with 2 EV's over nearly 4 years?

I'm Boris and I created Claude Code. Lots of people have asked how I use Claude Code, so I wanted to show off my setup a bit. My setup might be surprisingly vanilla! Claude Code works great out of the box, so I personally don't customize it much. There is no one correct way to use Claude Code: we intentionally build it in a way that you can use it, customize it, and hack it however you like. Each person on the Claude Code team uses it very differently. So, here goes.

@hashishrajan Amazon is so far behind in the AI race all they can do is build infrastructure to try to lock in their biggest customers. it's too little too late. OpenAI and Google are leading the way. Ironically even Oracle is investing more than Amazon right now in AI infrastructure.

AWS is spending $50B to build AI infrastructure for the US government. Is the AI bubble still real?

Here’s the thing folks. I’ve been coding 32 years. When something like this happens it’s an organizational failure. Yes, some human wrote a bad line. Someone can “git blame” and point to a human and it’s awful. But it’s the testing, the Cl/CD, the A/B testing, the metered rollouts, an oh shit button to roll it back, the code coverage, the static analysis tools, the code reviews, the organizational health, and on and on. It’s always one line of code but it’s NEVER one person. Implying inclusion policies caused a bug is simplistic, reductive, and racist. Engineering is a team sport. Inclusion makes for good teams. Good engineering practices makes for good software. Engineering practices failed to find a bug multiple times, regardless of the seniority of the human who checked that code in. Solving the larger system thinking SDLC matters more than the null pointer check. This isn’t a “git gud C++ is hard” issue and it damn well isn’t an DEI one.

Love it when Microsoft tells customers "don't use public endpoints on your services" and then forces you to deploy premium SKUs to make things private. /Slow clap

@_sarahyo The ddos one is fantastic - love the fact the bullets are packets! Doubt I’ll be at the same events (damn working at a competing vendor) but I’d love one!

Just took me 20 minutes to figure out how to purchase things on a google tv. What happened to the simple movies and tv thing? Why do I need to purchase through YouTube?! Why doesn’t Australia have the shop tab. It’s like the UI team just decided to turn the user flow into a maze

I do like my Tesla - but man, the numerous overlapping and poorly documented configuration options for charging are just shit. Click on the start charging but no the power needs an override button clicked, oh wait solar charging is enabled so it’s trickle charging
