Elon unfortunately you are introducing confusion to consumers that are considering this significant purchase. You should've leveraged the initial amazing reaction and enthusiasm to that price point and configuration and run with it. Your 4am tweet, unfortunately completely killed any confidence about this price point configuration and product line. This week I would label this an Anthropic move, shortsighted confusing.

Chris and I made an observation and it's been consistent. Ever since 14.2, FSD goes slow during the day. Barely reaches speed limit on our 55mph rural roads, requires accelerator presses even with mad max. At night, totally different story. Way faster and more assertive on the exact same roads. Anyone else experiencing this?

I decided that instead of giving my FSD 14 review I would hand the reins over to my dad! He is the epitome of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. Aka the most analog man I know, enjoy his first time using any type of lane centering EVER. 🤣

FSD v14 will now go to anyone that has 'Advanced' selected under software in their vehicles (as long as the car is capable).

@wholemars Bottom line, if it is safer than 13 it should be in everyone’s vehicles. FSD is supposed to be about being a safer way to drive. Not a smother way.

A lot of Tesla fans are very upset with me for recommending that Tesla wait before replacing FSD 13 with FSD 14 First off, Tesla isn’t listening for my approval. I’m just sharing my thoughts. I have no problem with hardcore FSD fans / pro users who really want to test the latest FSD having 14, if they understand and accept that it won’t be quite as polished as 13. When I talk about it being ready to go wide, or replace 13, i’m not talking about those people. I would support them expanding the beta to anyone who wants to help beta test it. But for the masses, your average users, our moms and dads, it’s important that Tesla craft an experience where the self-driving system is always getting *better* with minimal to no regressions along the way. The masses don’t care about having the latest and greatest this week instead of next week. Only early adopters and fans do. Almost everyone else wants to be able to rely on their self -driving software, and that means making sure than 14 is as smooth and comfortable as 13 with no functional regressions, no new features acting up, and no over-cautiousness and unneeded braking compared to FSD 13. I think Tesla is making the right moves in that regard.
