@avstudiosng And of course, the origin of the conversation was the UK Govs logo change that looked like a move of a dot and a colour palette change. Not in anyway similar to Symantec's story. Also the UK Gov denied an FOI request to clarify how that money was really spent.

I know many will have a gun to my head but hear me out. Rebranding is not just logo! I hear you and I quit agree that at first glance the rebrand looks like only minor tweaks: the dot moves, the colour changes. But design at this scale isn’t about pixels. 👇🏾👇🏾

£532,000 to rebrand this logo  That’s what the govt. spent. £532k to move a dot up and change one colour  The U.K is falling apart, we are taxed to oblivion, and half a mil is wasted on this This is FIFTEEN nurses salaries for an entire year for a job A.I could have done in 30 seconds for free Your taxes are being squandered in front of your eyes. @avstudiosng No bro, it's quite ingenious for you to state that they paid $1.2 billion for their 'rebranding'. It's fairer and more factually accurate to state that the $1.2 billion was for their acquisition of Verisign. Point here is that the rebranding didn't cost $1.2 billion.

@avstudiosng I've heard this misinformation for too long. Symantec's $1.2 billion expense wasn't for a rebrand perse, but was primarily due to the company's acquisition of VeriSign in 2012. This massive purchase brought in Symantec's most famous logo element; the familiar check mark.

Symantec paid $1.2B for their rebrand! Yes B for billion! There are other companies that have paid lots of money for rebranding but because this one is government now, it’s questionable. It’s more than just the logo!
