@TCMallard4468 Correct - I remember he'd run in it but not that he'd won - It was at my local track and I backed the second!

Spain very lucky that Rodri chose to represent them rather than Wales.

Maltese Cross has done rather well to pull that one out the fire...

@haywood813 It's possible - that win makes his next race quote tricky to find. Not many run in the Voltigeur with a G1 penalty, but I'd imagine an extra run would be mighty useful to decide if Leger or Arc is the way to go.

@davidjohnsonTF Mr Haggas seemed keen on atr last week, though admitted it was a harder race. Always thought as a Yorkshireman he'd want to win it. May go arc route now though?

@haywood813 I'm not totally convinced yet he'll end up there, he's now a Group 1 winner over 12f.

@RowleyfileRRR I'm with you, I think they were a little below par. I'm still a little aggrieved - I'd been hoping that they'd have gone first-time blinkers in the Wokingham!

@davidjohnsonTF Maybe. I have him improving 6 lb on his very best, and he should go close on that. He walks it if Satono Reve and Venetian Sun ran to ~119 on Saturday, but I doubt that.

@jonwilliams_150 Shame to hear, but understandable. Was a data query you responded to that I started following you from. Definitely racing's loss. All the best.

@davidjohnsonTF But a combination of poor/unlucky ownership choices, some dev choices i made, and to top it all the data service i used stopped providing some crucial data, just everything seemed to fall apart at the same time. Took a break and realised i don’t miss it.

An update for my 3 or 4 racing followers. I’ve totally lost interest in the sport and can’t see myself posting about it again any time soon. Feel free to unfollow if you only want racing on your timeline 👍

@StickToCricket Brook's choice of shot given the game scenario has been highly questionable so many times over the last 6/12 months. He's potentially England's best cricketer post-Root, but where's the evidence he has the temperament to make the right decisions under pressure?

"Harry Brook can captain England if the coach changes." 👀 Will we now see Brook captain the Test side? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

@JFlaRacingNerd I think AW races generally are weaker races too. That was a stacked 0-95 at York and obviously harder to pull off what he tried there than at the likes of Wolverhampton. So likeable though to keep doing what he is off that programme.

@davidjohnsonTF That’s a valid argument and that it was purely down to the stable change. I’m not so sure it’s quite as simple as that. He seems to be improving all the time and probably well handicapped either way, but I’ll definitely be backing him when he goes back on aw.

Enjoyed this - the Hagler story post-Championship is well known but this is a well told tale of his path to the championship. Plenty about Alan Minter and a shameful night for British boxing in 1980, too.

@zilzal89 Wow. 3 pts win Marvin please! I suppose he'd drawn with the man that Hagler beat, so collateral form and all that, and Minter had got a very favourable verdict to win the belt.
