@brodders_be So because he has refereed him before he will be bias towards him? Not sure that makes sense Ian. He has reffed 2 South America v Europe matches so far in this WC and the European teams won both (Spain v Uruguay, Norway v Brazil).

This does seem a somewhat controversial appointment given Messi's MLS relationship with the referee. There's so many officials that could have done this match but presumably FIFA is once again pandering to the US by giving the semi-final to one of their referees. Pathetic

Every World Cup Winner since 1986 has followed this one simple rule and conveniently it leaves just one nation possible to still win this year. Why 1986? Because this is when proper knockouts began in the World Cup.

@davidjohnsonTF Cheers David. I’ve just realised you’re with Timeform (actually had a trial of the TF data back in 2020). Found some anomalies as part of my data cleansing process - should have charged a consultancy fee haha! Anyhow, I’ve quit once before and then Cheltenham lured me back! 🙈🧐

An update for my 3 or 4 racing followers. I’ve totally lost interest in the sport and can’t see myself posting about it again any time soon. Feel free to unfollow if you only want racing on your timeline 👍

@davidjohnsonTF But a combination of poor/unlucky ownership choices, some dev choices i made, and to top it all the data service i used stopped providing some crucial data, just everything seemed to fall apart at the same time. Took a break and realised i don’t miss it.

@davidjohnsonTF Mixed reasons David. I actually got into racing through data. I love data - Made a career from it. Got into racing because of the interesting data. Enjoyed looking for “the edge”, created my own race cards with some fabulous features. Was hooked. even got into 100% ownership. 1/2

I keep politics off here, but I find those ridiculing, cheering and applauding the death and murder of Ann Widdecombe a 78 year old defenceless old lady, utterly shameful people.

@Mollyploofkins Brooooo! I can’t believe he ran. Bison can charge you around 35 mph. 👀😬 He has so many options to protect himself by angry Bison. He should’ve went behind those vehicles or if you’re are corners then curl into a tight ball on the ground to protect your vital organs.

A tourist was seriously injured Friday evening after being thrown 8 feet into the air by a bull bison in Yellowstone National Park. Professional photographer Mike Macleod filmed the incident and said the bison was "angry, agitated and charging anything and everything." (No audio)

@AaronWar_ That’s called back fitting a system and it won’t stand the test of time with a larger data set. The next failure you get you will need a further caveat. It’s currently A with the caveat of B but within your lifetime you’ll have added plenty more caveats to your rule.

@GodlyRH @OwenShroyer1776 He was never getting that ball as its trajectory was going behind him. That’s why VAR didn’t alert the ref.

@OwenShroyer1776 They couldn't allow a major upset at the world cup. Mind you, norways goal was disallowed because of a light push, but this wasn't given as a penalty for Norway.

@kerry54371189 @Dagi_7 The hand of God too. Another one that VAR missed I think the problem with the current implementation of VAR is they are still being very subjective with things and when something is 50-50 (or 60-40) they shouldn’t overrule the ref. Maradona’s and Lampard’s were clear and obvious

@Dagi_7 Then you’d complain when you have an obvious goal scored, ball over the line and because the ref and linesmen didn’t see it (and no VAR) it’s not counted and pretty much dumps you out of the World Cup. This was Frank Lampard for England in the 2010 q/f of the World Cup.

Norge scorer 1-0. Kane i bakken i forkant. Frispark? Gidder ikke å juble. Norge scorer 2-1. Anderson i bakken i forkant. Frispark?

Yesterday was one of the biggest scams I’ve seen in a game of football. Everything is rigged. Big teams to go through, it’s all scripted. So proud of our team, they fought to the end vs opponent and refs. Clearly deserved the win🇳🇴 What a World Cup team💪

We are not watching the 4 best teams in the world cup. As long as Fifa gets to pick and choose who gets called for what, it will always be a max extraction betting and tourism circus. Norway got robbed.

I love how FIFA uses VAR to overturn organically won goals just because some tangentially involved player took a dive… But completely misses it when the ball literally hits a camera cable in the course of play. Truly a joke of a system.
Mark Valorian@markvalorian

England player clearly took a dive. Haaland’s push was nothing out of the ordinary for what I’ve seen this whole World Cup on corners. I have absolutely no idea what these people are thinking.
