Naming Moynihan Station after Trump would be what Moynihan called "defining deviancy down." Moynihan grew up in Hell's Kitchen, abandoned by father, & spoke like a professor. Trump grew up in gated community, inherited $413 million, & talks like a thug.

Early in her career, former Reagan & George H W Bush speechwriter Peggy Noonan was the daily CBS Radio commentary writer for Dan Rather. Collateral damage to trashing iconic institution: fewer writers learning to write speakable, listenable narratives.

Endorsements from people who truly know your work hit different. This isn’t politics, it’s personal. I’m honored to have the support of Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen. Charles is a proven fighter who leads with integrity and consistently puts people over politics. Grateful for your trust, Charles. I don’t take it lightly—and I won’t let you or Ward 6 residents down.

Listen to every word of this powerful speech from @Janeese4DC. Everyone needs to understand that this child care crisis is a manufactured crisis. We need to lead on early childhood. Another candidate in this race likes to put it in his platform, but once again, didn’t show up.

Big day for endorsements, as the building trades, LiUNA, IBEW and the painters’ union backed @Janeese4DC, pointing to her work negotiating for additional labor protections in the RFK deal.

New: Opportunity DC, the business backed group aligned with the Federal City Council, is endorsing @kenyanmcduffie for mayor. Probably no surprise here (they backed him in 2022) but notable as they can spend heavily to support his bid. Here's what ED Malcom Fox says about why:

As ADL's Jonathan Greenblatt wrongly accuses Ro Khanna & Chris Van Hollen of perpetuating antisemitism, remembering his predecessor, the legendary Abe Foxman, built bridges, not burned them, with Rev. Jesse Jackson.

@HaleyCohen19 ADL is supposed to be the Anti-Defamation League, not the Anti-Democrats League. Ro Khanna & Chris Van Hollen are not perpetuating antisemitism, and I shouldn't have to say this. Abraham Foxman was a tough advocate but, at his best, he tried to build bridges, not burn them.

New from me: Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the ADL, called out two Democratic lawmakers, Chris Van Hollen & Ro Khanna, from the main stage of the organization’s Never is Now conference in Manhattan, accusing them of perpetuating antisemitism.

@ShusterRTS @souljagoyteller Jimmy Carter, who was never a racist but could be an opportunist, and George Wallace, who was a New Deal Democrat & then a racist demagogue & eventually a penitent populist, both evolved.

@DNIGabbard When I worked for a union in Illinois, there was a funny guy from Chicago who used to pound the table at staff meetings and say, "I'm with the program -- what's the program?" Tulsi Gabbard is with the program.

Donald Trump was overwhelmingly elected by the American people to be our President and Commander in Chief. As our Commander in Chief, he is responsible for determining what is and is not an imminent threat, and whether or not to take action he deems necessary to protect the safety and security of our troops, the American people and our country.
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence is responsible for helping coordinate and integrate all intelligence to provide the President and Commander in Chief with the best information available to inform his decisions.
After carefully reviewing all the information before him, President Trump concluded that the terrorist Islamist regime in Iran posed an imminent threat and he took action based on that conclusion.
English

@NBCNews Did he say President of what? Maybe a former president of the Heritage Foundation.

President Trump said Monday that he spoke to a former president about bombing Iran.
• An aide for George W. Bush says that “they haven’t been in touch."
• An aide to Bill Clinton says that whoever Trump was referring to was not Clinton.
• An Obama aide says “no recent conversations” have taken place between Barack Obama and Trump.
• A source familiar with the matter said the former president Trump was referring to was not Joe Biden.
