Reading a book abt the birth (&fall) of modern medicine, which identifies the desire to take calculated risks on individual patients for the benefit of science as a key driver of the progress we've seen in medicine in the last century. Afraid we've lost that ethos.

@neubadah @shansiddiqi We teach our students to be their own sharpest critics. One of the best compliments I’ve ever gotten was when one of our papers was discussed at a journal club and they told me that we had already pointed out all of the limitations that they noted in their discussion.
