Happy Solar Pessimism Chart Update Day to all who celebrate

Renewables are NOT REPLACING fossil fuels, they're ADDING to them. As renewables grow, fossil fuel consumption is also up, emissions are rising, and global warming is accelerating. We're set to reach 2ºC by the 2030s as Earth transitions to a much hotter climate state.

NEW | The world installed a record 814 GW of solar and wind capacity in 2025 ☀️⚡️ That's over 1,000 TWh of electricity generation per year... ...enough to displace nearly twice Qatar's annual LNG export volume in gas generation 🔥❌ Fossil fuels crisis? Wind and solar deliver.

Spain's renewables build-out has structurally decoupled its electricity prices from gas markets. Gas now sets the price in only 15% of hours, compared to 90% in Italy. Countries that invested early in clean power are far less exposed to fossil fuel price shocks.

Now seems like a good time to remember that global fossil fuel consumption and emissions are at record levels and rising, and global warming is accelerating. Renewables are not replacing fossil fuels, they're adding to them. x.com/DrSimEvans/sta…

Don't be fooled: renewables are NOT REPLACING fossil fuels, they're ADDING to them. Globally, 2025 saw record fossil fuel consumption and record emissions. Global warming is accelerating. Clean energy growth doesn't matter for climate if fossil fuel consumption is increasing.

On Tuesday #wind generated 52.6% of GB electricity, more than gas 14.4%, nuclear 10.2%, imports 9.7%, solar 7.4%, biomass 5.6%, *excl. non-renewable distributed generation

@janrosenow The public is being misled with fantasies of a happy green future: renewables are not replacing fossil fuels, they're adding to them. Emissions are still rising and global warming is accelerating. x.com/DavidLWindt/st…

If you feel helpless about the climate, consider this: none of the climate models factor in the deepening and irresolvable crisis of US imperialism, which is unfolding before our eyes and will undoubtedly lead to a major decline in fossil fuel use. Nothing will be better for the climate than the retreat and collapse of US imperialism.

BREAKING: 🇮🇱🇺🇸🇮🇷 US and Israel begin bombing Iran's gas infrastructure Iran produces an estimated 70-75% of its natural gas supply from the South Pars fields that was currently bombed, and it is estimated that 80% of Iran's electrical grid is powered by natural gas.
