@DavidLeeGenesis @TheGermanicist @YouSpooneeBard Im tired of that prophecy being used as a "gotcha". Read DNC 130:14-17 written in 1832. Then do the math of when he said Volume 2 in 1835(29yo). He was NOT declairing the coming of the Lord for ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY. He really thought he would live to see it based off HIS OWN guess.

@TheGermanicist @YouSpooneeBard So you are claiming for Prophecy 1 that the History of the Church, Vol. 2, page 182 is not accurate in what it recorded?

Prophecy 1 never happened (3rd-hand account not corroborated by present historical records of what Joseph actually said). Prophecy 2 isn’t a prophecy but an admonition, which David followed and which mission he is still preaching on the other side of the viel of death (1 Peter 4:6). Prophecy 3 and 4 came true and the US literally couldn’t govern half their people for 4 years. Prophecy 5 is true because treasure is more than moneys Prophecy 6 is from an outdated source and wasn’t said by him. Prophecy 7 is justified by D&C 124:49. All those words in that article argued like an atheist. Sad.

Sure it’s an entertaining story for some. But it was written by a false prophet according to Deuteronomy 18:21 so it is not truth. Read the Bible for truth. “The book seems to be merely a prosy detail of imaginary history, with the Old Testament for a model; followed by a tedious plagiarism of the New Testament.” Mark Twain

@ChristySimm23 @Metaphysicmike I find it fascinating how difficult and seemingly impossible it is, for some people to see that is what scripture teaches. Jesus is God in the flesh. For me it’s easy praise God. It’s almost as if there is a force behind keeping them from understanding that.

@Metaphysicmike Curious how you get around these... “Before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58) “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30) Thomas fell down and said, “My Lord and my God” (John 20:28)

When people won’t fellowship with you just because you don’t believe Jesus is God ontologically, it hurts. Makes you want to abandon Christ because of his so-called followers. But at the end of the day, I don’t follow Christ because I want to be accepted by others. I follow him because he’s truly the Messiah, and the Son of God, and the gospel changed my life, put me on a righteous path, showed me what life is about, and what happens hereafter.

Thanks. I looked into it. The words in that column do not show up in Choctaw or Chickasaw dictionaries with the exception of Appa for father. But just that reflects a common parental sound and is not evidence of ancestry. This is a common trait in Mormonism. Evidence is flimsy and falls apart upon close examination. I’m telling you man, don’t put your trust in this. Matters of the spirit are of eternal consequence. You must be certain.

The Book of Mormon does not contradict the Bible. It contradicts popular interpretations of the Bible. Those are not the same thing.

@TheBoMProof @MattTestifies If this were a genuine Hebrew menorah, you’d expect to find other Hebrew artifacts and writing in addition to this shape. Can you give me an example of those?

@RestoredLife100 Is this the Jesus Christ that created all things including Lucifer or the offspring of Heavenly Father and heavenly mother who is Lucifer’s brother? Which Jesus do you speak of?

Centered on Jesus Christ. Following Jesus Christ. Worshipping Jesus Christ. Yeah… sounds pretty Christian to me.

@RestoredLife100 Looks like Christianity but Mormonism is the farthest thing from Christianity, be aware of Mormonism.

The standard attack on Mormonism runs through correspondence theory. Did golden plates exist? Did Moroni appear? Is the Book of Abraham a translation or a fabrication? Line up the propositions, check them against the historical record, deliver the verdict. The entire counter-cult industry — evangelical and secular alike — operates on this method. And on this method, Mormonism is vulnerable. But William James would say you’ve already made the decisive error. You’ve assumed that religious truth works like scientific truth — that a belief is true if and only if it corresponds to some mind-independent state of affairs, and false otherwise. James rejected this. Not because he was soft on truth, but because he thought correspondence theory was parasitic on a deeper question it could never answer: what difference does it make?

He spent his ministry spreading the gospel, the good news, then warning and rebuking those who turned from grace following false prophets. “…if anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!" Even Jesus has a warning for false prophets: “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.” Those who trust the gospel are His church and the gates of hell will not prevail against them according to Jesus. The so called LDS church is just a man made organization that continues to deceive good people. They don't need Mormonism. Christ is sufficient. The gospel that Paul preached is enough. "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." Christ is the image of the invisible God. He died for the sins if the world. Turn from mormonism, towards the Bible, trust in Him for the forgiveness of sins and be born again.

@pimomormon That’s the bad news. Spiritual death. The spirit of God was withdrawn from them in that moment according to the law of sin and death. But the good news is the restoration of life through the restoration of the Holy Spirit by being born again.

God said Adam and Eve would “surely die” the same day they ate the forbidden fruit. Adam and Eve almost lived (according to the Bible) for a thousand years. And we’re told that god tells the truth?
