After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

Any parents whose children are captured here assaulting a younger boy in school, should themselves parade their sons and beat the pulp out of them in full assembly at school to serve as an example of setting standards for characters that are unacceptable. This is tragic and sad!!

Two years ago, on a day like today, 8th March, 2024 I travelled to Makueni to attend a School Board meeting. This was exactly 8 days after losing the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Presidential elections and also the day the whole world marks and celebrates the International Women’s Day. Eng. Mutevu Kaluma who also served in the same Board sent me a text requesting me to pass his apologies to the Chairperson as he was attending the International Women’s Day celebrations in Embu County presided over by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Kenya William Samoei Ruto @WilliamsRuto. After a few minutes he sent me another message informing me that the President had announced in his speech that he will be appointing 16 women as Ambassadors and Deputy Heads of Missions. I didn’t not give this much (a) thought since I was not expecting any appointment. Dr. King'oo Ndanu, a Board member had carried some goodies for the women in the Board and the female staff and teachers of the School. As we took pictures during the celebrations using her phone, I decided to “floss” with my then new and expensive iPhone 14 Pro Max. When I reached out to pick it up, I was shocked to find a million plus missed calls and texts from all over the world. The phone was literally “hot”! I did not peep through the phone and I quickly decided to call my brother Boniface Mbatha who doubles up as my driver. On our way home, the calls persisted. I did not bulge. I did not pick them. I was still reeling from the pain of losing the LSK elections and I was trying to process the loss. When we reached home, I found my aging mother seated outside our house and instead of first greeting me “Kamende wakya”, she quipped, “why are they still mentioning your name on TV and the radio (read Musyi Fm @MusyiRadio ) yet you did not win the elections?”. I was just on time for the 4pm news where the announcement of my appointment as Kenya’s High Commissioner to Canada was made. The rest as they say is history. God surprised me a good one that day! He has continued to surprise me with His mercies, grace and faithfulness. I thank His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto for appointing me as the High Commissioner of Kenya to Canada on this day, two years ago. I am sincerely grateful for the confidence His Excellency bestowed upon me and his believe in my ability to serve the great Nation of Kenya and her people in this prestigious position in Canada. The appointment bestowed upon me is truly an honor, and I was deeply touched by His Excellency’s trust in me. I am committed to upholding the confidence shown in me and I will strive to fulfill my duties diligently and with dedication, integrity, honesty, honor and distinction. Mungu mbele🙏
