@MollySOShea I'm on the edge of my seat for this secret childhood story for the beginning of Sourcery!

@bscholl Love this. It's good for your kids to see why you work so damn hard and engage with it anywhere they can. Bringing their friends into it is a great way to help them admire what you're building even more. Makes the whole thing way stickier for them in my experience.

If you work at a hard tech company, it would be super irresponsible to bring your kids and their friends to the factory and let them experience a forklift.

Someone from Tesla said we may have just hired their #1 asset. Michael So is joining Aalo as VP of Programs, coming directly from his role as Head of Cybercab Launch. His track record is absurd: • NPI employee #1 at Giga Texas (built the team to 100+) • Launched Model Y --> the top-selling vehicle platform in the world every year since 2023 • Launched Cybertruck • Was running Cybercab production scale-up • Plus Silverado/Sierra at GM and Cruise's AV Six products from concept to full-scale production in a decade. Nobody launches hard hardware faster. He's bringing that rigor to Aalo-X and the Aalo Pod, factory-built nuclear at the scale the world actually needs. Welcome aboard, Michael. Let's go.
Matt Loszak@MattLoszak

Excited to announce that Michael So is joining Aalo as our VP of Programs. Michael previously led the Cybercab program at Tesla, and played major roles on Cybertruck and Model Y. He's been a leader in Austin's manufacturing scene since the early days of Tesla's presence here, commissioning the 1st Giga Texas production line, building its 1st car, and scaling production. At Aalo, Michael will help to create the nuclear product that will make affordable, smaller nuclear reactors a reality. Welcome to the team Michael!

@paulg I usually nod along with the wisdom you share, but I strongly agree with @PalmerLuckey here. It's not for everyone, but starting early accelerates learning. If it fails, you iterate with decades of runway. If it succeeds, you gain freedom sooner to chase curiosities. Why delay the build-launch-iterate cycle when the downside is low and the compounding upside is huge? Nothing teaches like actually building and shipping. When inspiration hits, no matter the age, just do it!

Don't start a startup in high school. What if it works? You'll lose the opportunity you'd otherwise have to explore random, interesting ideas, driven only by curiosity. Because while you will indeed learn a lot from a startup, you won't have any choice about what you learn.

@altcap - just heard your comment on AllIn about getting your name for your X handle. Maybe you already tried, but X has the "X Handle Marketplace" now, and I used it; it was awesome. I had to have a couple of symbols in my name before, and this got me my actual name right away.

Smart market driven approach. Delay Mythos, organize Project Glasswing to partner w leading companies to collectively harden internet security & use cyber as a blueprint for the industry coordination we will need to manage a world of post AGI models. 💪🇺🇸🚀

Here are the 10 commandments of building a Trillion-dollar nuclear company: After 15+ years in new nuclear, this is what i learned about the ladder (regardless of reactor size or type): Level 1: Build hardware under Nuclear QA Level 2: Achieve first criticality (sustain fission) Level 3: Run at full power for 1 year Level 4: Secure your first commercial operating license Level 5: Lock fuel for reactor #2 + 3 refueling cycles Level 6: Execute a successful refueling outage Level 7: Finance your second commercial plant Level 8: Prove your supply chain can deliver 10 reactors Level 9: Achieve NOAK economics Level 10: Deploy at least 1 GW/year Reality check: - VCs are betting you can reach Level 3 - Private equity won't take you seriously under Level 6 - The market majority prays you climb up to Level 9 Most companies talk about Level 10. Very few survive the climb to Level 3. That gap is the entire game.

@HarryStebbings For sure, and there is everything to be gained from being elegant. People remember when you seem like the one with class in difficult situations. All of a sudden you stand out because everyone is so used to mudslinging.

Lesson for life: People will wrong you. People will do things they should not. Always take the high ground. There is nothing to be gained from being petty or snide. Be elegant. Life is long.

No sir, not charisma. I invest in dynamic leaders with big vision, deep product obsession, and extreme bias to action in my private and public company investing. @nejatian walked away from Shopify and structured his comp to be entirely performance equity. That's not vibes, that's big time skin-in-the-game conviction. I want to see his vision for Opendoor exist and he's just crazy + skilled enough to deliver.

BREAKING: Inside Opendoor w/ CEO Kaz Nejatian On earnings day, @nejatian opened the doors to Sourcery to go under the hood of the public turnaround of a company once trading at ~$0.50 & facing delisting risk 6 months in. $1 salary. Up to $2.8B in performance equity. All gas, no brakes I toured the office, sat in on a product meeting, BTS of the livestream, & recorded our long-form interview where Kaz shares openly how they’re rebuilding @Opendoor in public (with the help of the $OPEN army, of course) This was unlike anything I'd ever seen before. Big thank you to the Opendoor team for letting me in!
