I see a lot of writers creating threads about their journey, so I’ll try one of my own. When I finished grad school, everyone told me, if you want to work in TV, you need to get an assistant job. I was on crutches and have cerebral palsy, so…um…good luck!

@basedinmalibu Probably doesn't help that the President himself called Spencer a "big MAGA person"

So let me get this straight… Spencer Pratt runs on cleaning up the streets of Los Angeles, fixing the homeless crisis, making sure reservoirs and fire hydrants actually have water, saving dogs and making LA safer and cleaner for everyone… …and the media calls that “MAGA”? 🤔 Since when did wanting functioning infrastructure, safe streets, and competent leadership become controversial? Shouldn’t that be the goal of EVERY politician regardless of party? I guess some people would rather hand out free stuff while cities continue falling apart.
Rolling Stone@RollingStone

Spencer Pratt is the same as he ever was — from 'The Hills' to healing crystals to his turn as MAGA’s darling candidate for mayor of Los Angeles. rollingstone.com/politics/polit…

@jasonwblakely Conservative argument re Late Show was it was "too political" (yet they simultaneously embrace Gutfeld) & now even having one of the most popular entertainers ever on his final show, in a wholly non-political way, he is criticized for it "amount[ing] to nothing politically"

I admire Colbert's wit & I don't think he should have lost his show *but* elite liberals throwing themselves encomia parties with A-list celebrities as their form of symbolic resistance amounts to nothing politically & is part of what brought us to the current ideological impasse
Spencer Althouse@SpencerAlthouse

this was so sweet. Stephen Colbert just ended his final episode of The Late Show while singing "Hello, Goodbye" with Paul McCartney. his family and the show's crew then joined them on stage before Paul turned off the lights to the Ed Sullivan Theater

@USATODAY The rooftop stuff this article criticizes was a Letterman schtick from 30 years ago. Why is it now offensive? And why does this op-ed cite Colbert as "partisan" but not Gutfeld as a similar partisan from the opposite direction? Makes the op-ed pretty lopsided.

No one in the news media has mentioned this, but if Stephen Colbert was really being fired for political reasons, then his show should be very attractive for someone else to pick up, or for him to do on his own on YouTube. Why isn’t that happening? Because it would lose money and none of these celebrity guests who have been kissing his ass would keep coming on a show with an even smaller audience.
VANITY FAIR@VanityFair

‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ is officially a late show, as in no longer with us. Colbert signed off after getting absorbed into a metaphorical (and literal) black hole, and delivering this statement: “Paramount strongly believes in covering both sides of any black hole that is swallowing everything we know and love, and coverage must also include the positive aspects of the insatiable emptiness” vanityfair.com/hollywood/stor…

He didn't actually play the copyrighted music, his band just did a live version of it which is allowed, but that kind of defines what Stephen Colbert is. Meaningless political theater for a staged applause sign.
Rolling Stone@RollingStone

Stephen Colbert used copyrighted 'Peanuts' music during his finale for 'The Late Show,' saying, “Oh no, I hope this doesn't cost CBS any money!” Watch: rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-m… rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-m…

@DavidRadcliff @EricLDaugh But, I’ll play. The tithing is to the church. It’s used to help the unfortunate of the world and to finance the clergy that has committed to a vow of poverty to help spread the “word” of God. The worship is voluntary by the Christ Jesus followers cause he’s just so awesome

🚨 WOW! Spencer Pratt gave the PERFECT answer. Elect this man, Los Angeles! CNN: Who is your political role model? PRATT: "Jesus Christ." CNN: Any modern politicians? PRATT: "No! I'm not a politician. I want to be a FIGHTER for the PEOPLE." "I know The View ladies said I don't have a law degree, so I'm going to work on that online in the next, before November. I probably can get one, you know, I'll do a baby bar." 🤣 @spencerpratt The man has a way with words. LA doesn't have anybody else like this right now.

Mamdani is illustrating the point perfectly. The fact that his teachers disagree with Bezos is an indictment of the system that produced them. Bezos built a company that delivers anything on earth to your door in two days. NYC schools take 12 years to deliver a student who cannot read at grade level. If those teachers in Queens could recognize the difference, they would not be begging to differ. They would be begging to learn how he did it.
Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani@NYCMayor

I know a few teachers in Queens who would beg to differ.
