So many people work overtime to blame vulnerable road users for the mistakes of motorists.
A taxi driver hit a guy from behind and the judge says the driver was at fault. But during the trial, a cop insisted that the cyclist shared blame because he:
🚨 wasn't wearing a foam hat when he got hit from behind
🚨 was using an earbud when he got hit from behind
🚨 had a front bike light may not have been working when he got hit from behind
Car Brain is what leads people to commit and/or justify antisocial behavior involving a car -- behavior they would otherwise condemn. Car Brain is real.

@willmenaker My mum was reading John Peel's autobiography and she asked me for a Fall album to find out what "John Peel's favourite band" sounded like so I lent her the "Palace of Swords Reversed" CD to listen to in the car. A week later she called me to say "IT'S HORRIBLE"

@DavidSCandC @chorltonjon @but_cyclists @WorldBollard Thought I made that sufficiently clear, champ 👍

@chorltonjon @but_cyclists @WorldBollard In this clip There have been plenty posted by the @WorldBollard that aren’t I get it, you’re all anti-car and fetishise anything that goes against drivers, but try using your critical thinking skills every now and then

@suicyclists @chorltonjon @but_cyclists @WorldBollard Oh you are talking about different bollards. Not the ones in the video you are replying to.
English

@chorltonjon @but_cyclists @WorldBollard None of this deflects from my point that some bollards are unsuitably designed

@CoachLennyP @Boenau Let her drive how she likes until she kills someone. Idiot.

I'm very glad that I managed to get the driver to abort their overtake. Reviewing the video sent chills down my spine. This is the biggest danger that I face on rural roads. It is mind boggling how some drivers fail to see the danger of overtaking towards blind bends.

20 children in a 10 year span died or were seriously harmed, from loop cord blinds. This statistic was so shocking, Parliament immediately brought about change and new legislation. This wasn't to suggest that every single child would die at the hands of loop cords on blinds, but enough had, to warrant immediate change. It also wasn't to suggest that ALL blinds were bad and blinds should be made entirely illegal, but 20 children in 10 years was seen as an emergency to prevent the same thing ever happening to another child.
All the British public want, is the same logic and urgency applied to the immigration system and the hotels.

@CreativeDeduct @BaylenBored @MK48679403 @ewangibbs So landlords just doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. Gawd bless them 😢
English

@BaylenBored @DavidSCandC @MK48679403 @ewangibbs You’re totally deluded. If you have a repayment mortgage the rent won’t cover your monthly payments. The yield of most properties today is below the mortgage interest.

I don’t think the Labour Party’s homelessness minister should be a landlord in the first place.

The i Paper@theipaper
Labour homelessness minister Rushanara Ali threw four tenants out of her east London townhouse before relisting the property for £700 a month more in rent, The i Paper can reveal trib.al/MrjEOpf
English

@CreativeDeduct @MK48679403 @ewangibbs Sorry pal. I’m not arguing with someone stupid enough to pay for a blue tick.
English

@DavidSCandC @MK48679403 @ewangibbs Sure, landlords tend to let properties out to people who can't or won't buy. There are loads of homes for sale for those who want to buy.
English

@DavidSCandC @MK48679403 @ewangibbs What difference does that make? The developer could only build them because someone would buy them. The landlords money is what allows the homes to be built. (This is pretty simple stuff.)
English

@CreativeDeduct @MK48679403 @ewangibbs The landlords did not invest in building the houses.
A property developer built the homes and a landlord bought 6 of them.
English

@DavidSCandC @MK48679403 @ewangibbs Someone invested in building them. So no, without investors the homes very obviously wouldn't exist. Did you think homes just grow in the wild?
English

@LeftBrexit @ewangibbs That’s the opposite of what the OP is saying
English

@ewangibbs So long as she's an above-board landlord, it's OK
English

@CreativeDeduct @MK48679403 @ewangibbs What would happen if they didn’t “invest” in those homes? Would the home still exist?
English

@MK48679403 @ewangibbs Except its their money that is invested in the homes.

English

@Provokethoughtz YES. All bad behavior comes from the person's intension, you can't blame anything else. Certainly not drugs.
