Kim is heading to the IL. The subsequent rehab stint could at least give him a chance to get right. Kyle Farmer will be back tonight. Ritchie returns to add bullpen depth over the next few days

The #Braves today recalled RHP JR Ritchie to Atlanta and placed INF Ha-Seong Kim on the 10-day injured list, backdated to July 1, with right middle finger inflammation. Atlanta also returned INF Kyle Farmer from his rehabilitation assignment and reinstated him from the injured list, and optioned RHP Anthony Molina to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Once a game has started, it gets picked up from the point of suspension. They changed this rule a few years ago.

@CJNitkowski Hope you can answer. Why was last nights Braves game suspended and not a rain out? I thought if it didn’t go 5 you played a whole new game? Is this something new or am I going senile? 🤔

Tonight's forecast gave everyone a sense the rain would dissipate shortly after the first pitch. The rain held steady and proved to be stronger than envisioned. By that time, the infield was a mess. When Weiss and Vitello met on the field at 9:30, the thought was the game would start at 10. But the rain resumed while they were on the field, leading to the decision to suspend the game
