A great admirer of Edward Jenner, for his work on cuckoos - obviously, and fried food. This blog is trivial.

@Benregis1 We both got Blue though so we can congratulate ourselves on being a tiny bit highbrow.

@jennysmortstar Way too much faff. I hope you enjoyed it anyway!
English

@DavidWiddick You had to put potatoes in on tray first for 15 min then stuffing balls fur 5 mins, then extract YP’s from individual foil trays and put on tray with roasties for 20 mins but cover loosely with foil , a bit precarious for me xx

@Benregis1 It was the B word that stumped me. Got there though.

I love how there’s five early-in-serial Hartnell Dalek episodes and then just Web Planet 1 randomly in with them.

According to the Radio Times, the four existing episodes that were found were. The Daleks 2 & 3 The Web Planet 1 The Chase 1

@Benregis1 @SketchesbyBoze It must be young people. When I was young these things seemed impossibly long ago but now, as my knowledge of history has grown, they seem relatively modern and illustrate just how short the human lifespan is.
English

@SketchesbyBoze Jane Austen or Shakespeare Old English? What a bizarre thought. Lovely seeing the Lord's Prayer, if you start to say it in the rhythm of the Book of Common Prayer, suddenly sections of what looks incomprehensible to a Modern English speaker spring into life.
English

@TastingHistory1 No. Cabbages weren’t invented until 1972… is my guess…

@DavidWiddick they dont even understand people knowing the difference between whats in their heads and what a tv show could make in 60s😂

This aged terribly for them

Anon Opin.@anon_opin
The 90+ missing episodes of Doctor Who have gained mythic status among fans but people will be disappointed if they do turn back up, because there's no way reality will match up to the vision in their heads: they'll still be slightly shonky 1960s black & white studio recordings

"My flabber has never been so gasted."
On #BBCBreakfast broadcaster Peter Purves was shown restored versions of two episodes of Doctor Who, found in a cardboard box, that have not been viewed since airing in the 1960s

@TobyHadoke A fascinating listen. A pity your friend didn’t live to see it. He came across as an interesting character.

Something to whet the appetite before The Nightmare Begins appears on iPlayer (it's just a repeat, this, but with a new intro and outro about the finds). Non patrons can access it too. It'll be on my Podcast feed soon. Keep an eye on my You Tube too.

🕯#OTD in 1943, 14-year-old Czesława Kwoka was murdered in KL Auschwitz with a phenol injection. Photographer (and a prisoner) Wilhelm Brasse recalled that before the photo was taken, she wiped tears and blood from a cut lip after being beaten for not understanding German.

@filmisfabulous Massive news. Thanks for all your efforts. There’s a few other series I’m keeping my fingers crossed for too.
