@JamesMac_Fit I’d love to know. 10 months in and we’ve avoided letting my little one see a screen at all (I miss sports 😔) but it isn’t sustainable as she gets older.

Dads... I need your advice. As a young dad myself, I’m genuinely worried about my son growing up addicted to screens, phones, games, etc. It feels like EVERYTHING is designed to grab their attention these days. So I want to ask: - How do you actually manage screen time in your house? - What’s worked for you? - What’s failed? Would appreciate real answers from people who’ve been there 🤝

This is a harrowing and brave testimony. The girls at the heart of this case have shown extraordinary bravery and strength in heinous circumstances. This is an appalling case and it is right that law officers are urgently reviewing the sentences. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

🚨 Judge Abdul Iqbal Spares Man Jail After Sexual Assault of a Woman in a Taxi At Leeds Crown Court, a man dangerous offender who sexually assaulted a woman in the back of a taxi received a suspended sentence, triggering widespread public anger. The offender, Mohammed Shafiq, 36, assaulted a woman who had gotten into a taxi after a night out. During the journey, he touched her inappropriately while she repeatedly told him to stop. She reported the incident immediately after leaving the vehicle. Judge Iqbal accepted several mitigating factors: • Shafiq had no previous convictions • He pleaded guilty early • He expressed remorse • He had significant mental‑health issues, including depression • A pre‑sentence report assessed him as low risk of reoffending Recorder Iqbal imposed: • 10‑month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months • Sexual Harm Prevention Order • Rehabilitation activity requirement • Unpaid work • Five years on the Sex Offenders Register He warned Shafiq that any breach would result in immediate custody. The decision caused strong backlash, especially from women’s‑safety groups and taxi‑safety campaigners. Critics argued that taxis are supposed to be safe spaces and that sexual assaults in them should always result in immediate custody. Campaigners said the ruling “undermined trust in public transport safety.”

@jackshephards_ One of the greatest moments in tv ever. We’d found out not long before (a week, a month I don’t remember) that Lost would be ending in 3 seasons, I assumed it would end with them getting off the island. This gave the show renewed energy.

that “we have to go back!" moment changed tv forever. it revealed the “flashbacks" were actually flash-forwards. getting off the island broke Jack’s psyche, and his survivor's guilt made him realise locke was right about certain things. the island was their true destiny.

What’s frightening about the rape case was 3 young teenagers planned rape of 2 girls (who didn’t know each other), filmed it, used a knife to threaten their victims, made sure they didn’t have their phones, took them to a secluded area & raped them. And the judge LET THEM OFF

"Look back in courage" the judge tells the girls - including one who had told the court she wanted to die. No. When these girls look back, they’ll remember the pain. The violence. The terror. The humiliation. The sound of their rapists laughing while their lives were destroyed. And playing behind it all like a sickening backing track: a judge delivering sympathy and praise to their vile attackers - before watching them walk free out of court. If there was one thing that could have offered the smallest fraction of "comfort" to these girls - it was justice. And there was none here.

@lillai23 The Council is chasing me for my recently departed Mum's 'lease or details of the landlord'. They even asked 'what date did she give up the lease?'. I wrote back and said 'the day I found her dead body I guess'. Councils suck

Ok first time mom question: When my baby wakes up. She just lays there quitely cooing and playing with her own hands. I've started just letting her chill in there on her own until she cries out for me. But today its been like 20 minutes. Do I just... let her be? (I can see and hear her on the monitor obviously)

MOTHER AND PARTNER ABANDON TODDLERS AGE 5 AND 3 IN WOODS AFTER BLINDFOLDING THEM AFTER TAKING THEM TO PORTUGAL Heartless parents allegedly blindfolded their terrified 5-year-old and 3-year-old sons, told them it was a twisted “game to drive away the devil”, buried a knife in the woods and then abandoned the boys deep in remote Portuguese forest. The French brothers Barthélémy (5) and Zacharie (3) were instructed they could only remove their blindfolds once they found the buried knife and used it to cut them off. Mother Marine, 41, from Colmar in eastern France, and her partner Marc had driven more than 1,000 miles from France to Portugal specifically to carry out the alleged abandonment near Alcácer do Sal. The toddlers dug desperately in the dirt for several minutes before Barthélémy finally took their blindfolds off only to realise their parents had completely vanished. They wandered alone for hours, ending up crying and screaming on the side of the quiet N235 rural road between Alcácer do Sal and Comporta around 7pm Tuesday. A local couple who found them said the boys were “terrified”, covered in dirt and bruises with one nursing a grazed knee, desperately calling out for their father. Each boy had only a small backpack containing spare clothes, pieces of fruit and water bottles, nothing else, no ID. Both children have since been given a clean bill of health in hospital (toxicology confirmed they were not drugged) and placed into foster care. Portuguese police have opened an urgent child abandonment case while French authorities are investigating neglect, with the boys’ grandmother and separated biological father having already reported them missing. Marine's mother, the boys' maternal grandmother, reported the children's disappearance to police, telling them they had been abducted by their mother. The boys' father, who is separated from Marine, also filed a child abduction report to police. Colmar prosecutor Jean Richert told Le Parisien: 'He's like everyone else, he doesn't understand. The mother and Marc are now at the centre of the international probe.

@TiffaniMarie483 @taraji_bsw I’m only 10 months into being a parent but I have learnt very quickly that hearing my daughter cry or seeing her sad face overpowers any rational thoughts I have. You’ll do what you think is best, that’s all you can do.

My boys acted so terribly tonight I told them daddy would put them to bed. Both are crying and upset because they want me. The 4yo keeps shouting “Mommy are you really not coming up?” Really tugs at my heart strings and has me wondering if this wasn’t the best punishment.
