@DSNYNewscast So...WHY...change their plan? The Star Wars Launched Bay is RIGHT THERE. And they're saying "Dur, that WAS the plan, but we changed it way back--" It's like they're watching fan reaction specifically to go AGAINST it!

I would love to see theme park executives be forced to spend hours in the theme park restrooms. They’d figure out how to fix so many basic things.

I am saddened to learn of the passing of game designer Andrew Greenberg. I never had the pleasure of meeting Andrew in person, but his landmark role-playing game series Wizardry was a joyful and influential part of my life in the 1980s. Rest in peace, Werdna!

@ManPalisades1 @JimShull Jim shows in his latest YouTube video that there's enough space to put the Shanghai Pirates show building and everything we see in the Pandora concept art in the existing Hollywood Backlot footprint -- and that's even without expanding into the bus dropoff area.

@JimShull There isn’t enough space for Pandora to replace Hollywoodland. It’s going in the area marked for the DisneylandForward expansion plan.

Once the Hollywood Red Car passed in front of DCAs Tower of Terror. Period appropriate while adding an active kinetic to this area of the park, its removal for the expansion of Avengers Campus and Pandora will be missed. #Avatar

@MichaelCas39961 @JimShull Putting in Cars Land? If it hurt anything, it hurt the California theme. But I like that DCA now has Avengers, Cars, Pixar, and soon-to-be Avatar lands. The park-wide California theme was too limiting.

@David_Mullich @JimShull But what did it hurt? What did it take away from the park again? California has many areas that are mountainous and beautiful like that. It was adding to the park not taking anything away.

California Adventure Red Car going away in 2025 due to Avenger Campus expansion into its maintenance barn area. This decision to remove an active element from DCA and Hollywood land also opens the area for #Avatar.

@JimShull IIRC, Disney did guest surveys several years ago about potential name changes for DCA. My assumption was that the surveyed guests preferred DCA to any of the other proposed names.

@weaverworld @JimShull Yes. The trolley maintenance barn is located where Disney plans to build the Avengers Infinity Defense attraction.

@JimShull Are they removing them because of expansion?

The 2 Red Cars are stored in this maintenance building backstage. The building has electric charging ports and there are several other charging stations along the travel route and near the entrance to DCA.

@ManPalisades1 @JimShull That's a guess on your part. Most of the Disney podcasters, YouTubers, websites, etc. I follow think that it's going into Hollywood Backlot.

@MichaelCas39961 @JimShull The California theme was abandoned in 2012 when it put in Cars Land, which is set in a fictional town in Arizona.

@JimShull To be honest while it's such a staple to California Adventure it ended the theme when they replaced the Tower of Terror with that ugly tower. You weren't apart of that right Jim?

@ScottGustin A week ago or so, someone (Micechat maybe?) posted that the plan was to move the trolley barn to between the Hyperion Theater and Mission Breakout.

Disneyland officials said a specific date for the early 2025 closure will be shared later this winter. I also asked if the Red Car Trolley will return at a later date, and Disneyland officials said: “We look forward to sharing more information in the future.”

NEW: Avengers Campus construction at DCA, set to begin in early 2025, will require the removal of the backstage Red Car Trolley barn and will result in Disney discontinuing operation of the attraction in early 2025, Disneyland officials said. A specific date will be shared later.
