I Will Dust off My Engineering Certificate if the Country Gets Better —  Phyna Fires Back at Moniepoint’s CEO over his recent comments on Nigerian workforce Reality TV star Phyna has sparked conversation online after blasting claims that Nigerians lack intelligence, arguing instead that the system pushes people to abandon their brilliance just to survive. Reacting to recent remarks of Moniepoint’s CEO, Tosin Eniolorunda, about job vacancies allegedly going unfilled due to a lack of “smart Nigerians,” Phyna didn’t hold back, she said, “The statement “really, really disrespectful.” According to her, the real issue isn’t intelligence but a system that rewards the wrong things. “This country can make you drop your intelligence just to be f+oling, because that’s what they notice,” she said, explaining how people often feel pressured to chase visibility and survival over substance. Phyna revealed she holds an engineering degree and graduated well, but admits she’s had to adapt, “If the country gets better now, I will drop all this my f+oling and dust my certificate, I have it.” She argued that many capable Nigerians are sidelined not by lack of skill, but by p+or conditions and low pay.
