Feeling quite emotional this morning. Yesterday, my son decided he wanted to rearrange his room. As part of that, he wants to get rid of this rocking chair. Through two houses, this chair has spent many hours rocking both my kids to sleep. My wife and I sat with those little faces in our arms and watched them go from crying or restless to peacefully pacified. My son is 11. He wants a bean bag chair instead. His best friend has one, and he wants one too. He even wants my help redecorating his room - which I’m honored and happy to do. I’ll gladly help him pick out the perfect chair, hang his posters, and set up all his favorite collectibles on his dresser. But it hit me hard, realizing that soon I’ll have sat in that chair for the last time, and in a very short time both of my kids will be out of the house. It’s why I cherish living in the moment, and I constantly remind myself that the good old days are happening right now.

gm My buddy @0xBludex was in Barnes & Noble saw a crypto-themed end cap with The Everything Token - the book @skominers and I wrote! Seeing it in out the wild never gets old. And the thesis remains strong…the blockchain will completely change how we buy, sell, and create.

gm a fun Christmas nerd nugget...the first text message was sent in 1992 by Neil Papworth, a software engineer, from a computer to a Vodafone mobile phone. It said, "Merry Christmas." The recipient was a Vodafone exec at a company holiday party. And thus, texting was born.

gm During my intro at @opensea they asked for a fun fact. I mentioned in high school wrote a song for my girlfriend & performed it at a talent show. This is the beginning of that song. If it sounds like a cheesy 90’s song, it’s because it is 😆 btw that girl is now my wife.

Some big personal news… I’m joining the @opensea team as a Marketing Lead. I get to wake up everyday and work on things I’m passionate about…leading Communications, driving product and marketing for Rewards/Loyalty, and guiding social strategy. Community. Storytelling. Product. It’s like a bingo card of the things I love to work on. Doing that at any company would be exciting, but to do it at OpenSea, one of the most impactful companies in crypto, is the kind of opportunity you dream about. This also means I’ll be stepping away from my role as cohost of Coffee with Captain. CwC has been one of the best experiences of my life, and I’ll have more reflective thoughts on that unforgettable chapter in the coming days. But for today, it’s all about the next chapter…one I’m beyond excited to begin writing. OpenSea played a huge role in shaping my Web3 journey. Now I get to help shape its future. Sails up. ⛵️
