@kylerulez We already have amtrack doing basically the same route. Be competitive vs planes or don't play in the market. Miami to Orlando can be 200 bucks per person round trip. That's 800 for my family, what's my incentive to ride? The bright line is actually a good exp just expensive

Miami is now priced like Los Angeles , Boston, and New York in terms of rents.
And even prices in some pockets.
Yet it does not have the economy of these other metros. Wages are low, and to make good money in Southeast Florida you typically have to be an entrepreneur or work remote.

Miami's domestic migration just plunged to the lowest level on record in 2025.
With an astounding -113,000 net Americans fleeing the 3-county metro.
Note that Miami usually loses Americans due to outbound migration, and makes up for it with international immigration.
But the domestic losses are now getting especially severe, suggesting that the area is losing U.S. residents due to its lack of affordability.
Additionally, international migration dropped precipitously in 2025 as well, making Miami-Dade County the 3rd biggest population loser in the U.S.
These demographic statistics in Miami tell quite a different story from the conventional real estate narrative.
And are a primary reason why the real estate market is rolling over.

@BoredElonMusk It makes no difference. I saw these in Athens, Greece, and the minimum wage there for kids working would be a under a couple of euros an hour.Once big corp figures it out, people will be replaced. Well, that's my theory..

I co-introduced historic legislation to increase the minimum wage to $25. As someone who taught economics at Stanford, here is why it makes sense. The real minimum wage was $14 in 1968. Today it is half, but productivity has increased 2.5x. Instead of extractive capitalism, we need a free enterprise system that pays workers what they are worth.
