The operation, involving two large cargo ships and a fleet of transport aircraft, marks one of the most significant single-day resupply efforts since the outbreak of the “Operation Roaring Lion” conflict earlier this year. The ‘IMOD’ Defense Procurement Directorate (DPD) led the mission, which saw the cargo ships dock at the Ports of Ashdod and Haifa. One of the telling things about our society at our functions is how we behave around food: 1. People loading more food on their plates than they can finish, and without feeling ashamed of the heaps on their plates 2. The fact that people have to be served, because they don’t know how to share limited resources 3. When given a chance for self service, people serving themselves without any regard to those behind them that might not get. Five pieces of chicken are left in the dish, and someone serves himself three of them (with 20 people behind him) 4. People eating more than they need, just because there is free food 5. People acting impatient as if they would die if they took 10 more minutes before their turn to serve (okulookalooka/ okululunkana) 6. Serving the second time (double) before others get anything, and pretending not to have eaten at all 7. Packing food to take home when some people present haven’t got 8. Catering service providers hiding food. While these habits might seem isolated and only related to food, they ALL vividly manifest themselves when we are in charge of any resources that have to be shared. Think about it. Our biggest problems as a country are around GREED, SELFISHNESS, DISHONESTY, and lack of a sense of SHAME

Serious allegations of mismanagement and corruption have emerged within the National Identification and Registration Authority @NIRA_Ug, placing Executive Director Rosemary Kisembo under growing public scrutiny. Concerns have been raised over funds reportedly released by the @GovUganda to facilitate national ID registration, yet many citizens claim they have not received their IDs. The process is described as slow, costly, and increasingly inaccessible, with complaints that only individuals with connections are able to obtain National Identification Numbers (NINs) without difficulty. Additional claims point to bribery in the registration process, malfunctioning equipment procured for field operations and persistent understaffing despite allocated recruitment funds. There are also reports of unpaid staff salaries, further raising questions about internal accountability. . @Lukowoyesigyire "We wish to confirm the arrest of Akena Justine, a private security guard attached to Magnum Security Company, in connection with a theft that occurred on 10th April 2026. It is alleged that Akena stole a bag containing UGX 29 million and 900 grams of gold valued at approximately UGX 500 million from a motor vehicle belonging to one Katuramu Maggie. At the time of the incident, he had been deployed to guard the premises of Goldex Uganda Limited, located along Mawanda Road. Following the theft, Akena reportedly locked up the premises and went into hiding. On 15th April 2026 at about 2230 hours, the suspect was successfully arrested from Gaspa Village in Bweyale Town Council. Upon interrogation, he admitted to committing the offence. Preliminary findings indicate that Akena had used part of the stolen money to open a retail shop, from where he was apprehended. He is currently in custody at Mawanda Road Police Station as investigations continue and preparations for prosecution are underway.
