Girlfriend wants me to use my personal free time trying to lose a bit of weight, but I want to use it playing computer games. So I've set up an exercise bike facing my TV screen. Now I can exercise and game at the same time, keeping both of us happy. I'm a fucking genius.

@fesshole You’re not crying for him, you are mourning a relationship that never was. It’s normal and you are processing grief. No matter what the relationship, you miss them when they are gone.

My parents were summer of love hippies who split weeks after I was born. I met him only once again before he died suddenly about five years ago. Never thought much about him to be honest, but now can't listen to Cat Stevens' Father and Son without uncontrollably crying.

@fesshole I suspect you are grieving a life that you never had, more than the person. These things remind us of our own mortality. Of course it is sad but it isn’t necessarily a suggestion that you aren’t happy with your current life.

A woman I was engaged to 40 years ago has died. We went through a lot together, but she split with me after 3 years and I never saw her again. I've been looking at photos and crying for days. I bought the perfume that she wore to help me remember her. I can't tell my wife.
