@shanselman Hi @shanselman, genuine question: What do you consider as a good, ELI5 source to learn about diabetes/etc.? (Wikipedia counts, I suppose, but asking in case it's not a good source.). Not T1/T2 myself but have friends that are, and I'd like to have more understanding. Thanks!

Thanks to everyone who sent me this, but it’s not a cure, yet. This patient was previously on immunosuppressants from a liver transplant, and under it all she’s still diabetic. Google the Edmonton Protocol. I’ve been diabetic 32 years. We are always 5 years away. #t1d

slowly at first, then all of a sudden a new study reports the first ever successful transplant of stem cell-derived insulin-producing cells for type 1 diabetes. the patient became insulin-independent just 75 days after transplantation and has maintained this for over a year
