@jacobrodri_ That also can be faked! I mean it’s great idea as long as users don’t abuse it 😈

this app idea is insane it lets you join step challenges with real money: 1. everyone pays an entry fee 2. goal is to hit a minimum daily step count 3. people who fail lose their money 4. winners split the pot currently #9 on the app store in the health and fitness category

@yourRnotFunnyy @DanKulkov Since there’s 2 plans, and one of them is monthly (lower tier), I would do monthly, if you had one plan only, then daily

I wouldn’t go with this model. Instead: Hard Paywall with 2 of those and A/B Test: One week trial -> yearly charge 3-Day trial -> monthly charge Lifetime Access Cheap Weekly charge with no trial If they left your app and didn’t subscribe, you send a notification with one-time offer for 33% up to 50% of your most expensive plan

@DanKulkov Cancel anytime doesn’t have to be in both rows. Just above CTA. And yes 0.83 / Mo more appealing if you’re trying to people to buy yearly plan

@Dean_Hajjar like 0.83/mo? yeah, i tried it but tbh not sure where to put this in this layout i can replace cancel anytime in annual with this info but user might think that annual is not cancel anytime then lmao

apple rejected this paywall reason? "The app offers a free trial or introductory period but does not make it clear that a payment will be automatically initiated for the next subscription period." yes bro it's really UNCLEAR

@mattwelter Do you have high churn? If so, do you ask your users why they are canceling?

@adamlyttleapps That’s very true! You definitely need to backup your ASO with ASA. You have to pay to play

Apple nerfed ASO on new apps If your app was ranking prior to June 2025 you’re kinda locked in now I’m seeing my newer apps struggle 1. New apps don’t rank in organic listings even for exact match brand search (sometimes for days, weeks or months). Which means you miss out on the recommended search boost 2. I used to see my apps artificially held back for 6 months then rise. Now it’s not so obvious. Some take longer or just don’t rank (ever) 3. New apps are competing with record number of other new apps. Relying on ASO alone is not the winning move. Rely solely on ASO? No Treat ASO as *another* user acquisition channel? Yes I think the winning move is building addictive, fun and shareable apps that have a viral competent automatically built in Winners will be those who can get their users marketing for them (hey, check out this app) And those who can get the cost per acquisition on marketing channels (like meta ads) lower than the profit per download. Which has a feedback loop with App Store optimisation (more downloads = better rankings) but only if you’ve optimised it accordingly The challenge I’m working on is how to monetize a game (at its core an addictive fun app)
Tanmoy - Systems & Apps@godofdarkshadow

@adamlyttleapps Thanks for the reply. Do you think relying solely on ASO would be effective in 2026?

@consumerxai Great idea! That said, it really depends on the person. For some, overthinking (or over practicing) can actually backfire. If you rehearse too much, you might build expectations that don’t match reality and that can make the real date feel off or overwhelming!

Which scenario wins in app marketing? Assume it’s a brand-new niche / idea: A) Post consistently → find a winning organic format → scale it with paid → have creators replicate it B) Hire creators early → let them experiment → find the winning format → scale with paid + replication C) Run multiple paid tests (targeting + attribution) → identify your ICP + winning angles → then hire creators to replicate D) Something else? Curious how you’d approach it 👇

I don’t know! those ideas feel simple and can make some money, but they don’t really feel like full businesses. More like hobby projects. Every day a new app shows up in the same category. To really stand out, you probably need something built around a strong niche or real domain knowledge that gives you an advantage over the competition. Maybe I’m wrong. But it’s only the first guy is going to be outlier and everyone else is the same
