Australians are tightening their belts while government keeps getting bigger. Families are paying more, small businesses are under pressure and young Australians are losing confidence that hard work gets you ahead. Australians are entitled to ask whether life is becoming easier or harder under this government. That should concern all of us. My latest in the NT News.

@Death_Walker1 @JNampijinpa Dumb... naive.... and especially lazy minded. That's how Labor does this to us. Time to grow up and start thinking.

@JohnBB68138609 @JNampijinpa RW nut jobs make outrageous claims with no evidence, they're trapped in their own echo chamber of conspiracy and delusions of persecution, what should I call them?

@Death_Walker1 @JNampijinpa You think calling people RW nut jobs, is inoffensive? People like me are realists. Australia is in severe trouble. You should start paying more attention. Ignore corrupt MSM, especially ABC.

@JohnBB68138609 @JNampijinpa I'm not defending anyone, I'm just asking RW nut jobs to provide evidence for their claims, as it seems you are unable to provide evidence, I have to assume you don't know anything and you are just echoing RW talking points

@Death_Walker1 @JNampijinpa I'm not here to teach you 1+1=2. Go and have a look at the enormous growth in federal public servants to start with. Seriously man, you are defending the most atrocious government Australia has ever had.

One Nation has moved amendments to index tax brackets to inflation, ending bracket creep, twice. Labor, Liberals, Nationals, and Greens all refused to support it.

This segment hits hard: “For my husband and I, two school teachers, negative gearing was one way we could get ahead. You lied to get votes. Shame on this government, crushing dreams and telling lies”

I’m glad the coalition’s getting some better policies. I just wish they’d cite their source: One Nation!

Financial advisers have given clients advice on Family Trusts based on commitments given by this government. How can experts give professional advice when governments lie?

Do you condemn Jillian Segal's family donation to ADVANCE AUSTRALIA. A white supremacist lobby that hates Blackfellas, Palestinians and Asians? Do you condemn the fact that tax payers fund her racist hate campaign? Do you want @AlboMP to sack her now? Can I get a "Yes I Do"

@JJKALE2 I am really triggered when I see am MP wearing an Israeli/Australian flag pin because their loyalty should be to Australia (not a nation perpetrating genocide) but, unfortunately, I don’t have a royal commission I can appear at to talk about this trigger. 👇

Another take from the Royal Commission - a lot of mild feelings have been hurt, so they established an expensive RC to listen to them. So far over a $100M to tell us how bad they're feeling. Someone found cookie sales for Gaza upsetting & antisemetic. It's a farce.

Barnaby Joyce is crushing it right now and the views on his 2GB interview are through the roof. A no BS politician who has tapped in to the real concerns of so many. People are done with the climate change fantasy and excess migration. Demanding real solutions to real problems. ‘I’ve never seen a policy in 24hrs that’s so deserted, like Robinson Crusoe, as climate policy’ No surprise that post budget polls show a surge in support for One Nation!!

@jeff_kennett Your post is a bit misleading, but then maybe that was the intention, the rebate for people over 65 will be reduced to the same rebate as people under 65, so maybe about $200 a year increase for those over 65.

The removal of the rebate for private health insurance for people over 65, is grossly unfair. The rebate should have been means tested. Many seniors are low income or on pensions. Their health insurance is often their biggest expense which they struggle to keep. Unfair.

@BobKnezevic Not sure where the $8000 figure came from because it's not showing in my tax records.

BUDGET:- BS and Spin Jim as usual- $250 tax offset - from 2027 BUT the average tax payer has paid $8000 MORE under the ALP since 2022. The detail :- The estimate that an average Australian taxpayer has paid an extra $8,000 in total since 2022 ($2,000 annually) matches recent political and economic framing. •Political Context: The Coalition recently cited that Australian taxpayers have lost about $2,000 per year to bracket creep over the last four years, totalling roughly $8,000 for the average worker. •OECD Confirmation: Data shows Australia had the largest increase in average tax rates in the developed world in 2022-23 (up 7.6%), primarily due to bracket creep and the end of the Low and Middle Income Tax Offset(LMITO). •Ongoing Impact: While Stage 3 tax cuts starting 1 July 2024 provide some relief, analysts note they do not fully offset the cumulative "stealth tax" accumulated over the preceding high-inflation years.
