I’m extremely glad to see ranked choice voting expanding to Nevada, with proposals for it becoming more and more common across the country. RCV is the way forward — a way of letting us vote for who we want, rather than just voting against who we don’t. It makes us all better off.

Delaying the tabulation—making it impossible to know who is leading—is a policy choice. @ak_elections says the delay is to "avoid voter confusions and increase voter confidence," which are important goals. adn.com/politics/2022/…

Tomorrow is a big day for #rankedchoicevoting in Alaska! Voters will have more voice and more choice in their first statewide RCV election. Election admins implemented RCV earlier than expected due to this special election, and they're on track for a successful election!

The very best single-winner districts can deliver is a system where 5/6ths of voters have their representatives chosen for them, a year before the election, by a cartographer.

Our projections aren't as dire for Democrats as those from @FiveThirtyEight or @CookPolitical. Our model relies entirely on past voting behavior (no poll results) to illustrate the overwhelming power of partisanship to predict the outcomes.

Competitive elections in DC are here to stay, and our current system is not serving voters or candidates well. We can do better. After all that had happened so far this election cycle, I hope voters give ranked choice voting more consideration. thedcline.org/2022/06/16/chr…

Candidates shouldn't be in the position of feeling they need to drop out to "consolidate behind one candidate." #rankedchoicevoting would give voters more voice and more choice, and give candidates a fair shot without fear of vote-splitting with other like-minded candidates!

Yesterday was RCV Day (1/23). One thing we know about RCV (proportional and otherwise) is that people are more likely to support it after seeing a ballot, so here's a thread about ranked ballots with lots of images.

🌟Last month, FairVote workers came together to ask for voluntary recognition for our staff union. We did so with hope and excitement, and the belief that a democratic workplace, with representation for workers, will allow us all to build a stronger movement for RCV.🌟

Really thoughtful piece on what divides us and what can bridge the gap from Harvard Graduate School of Education. And, surprise surprise, the part I'm lifting up is their suggestion of #RankedChoiceVoting as part of the solution! bit.ly/3dvdlMY

Wise words from my colleague Lily at @fairvote: "There is a false belief that RCV only benefits said candidate’s party... It’s time to put this fallacy to rest. #RankedChoiceVoting simply makes the process of voting candidates into office fairer." bit.ly/3IlCbNp
